The Lazzara LSX 78 is a daring, gorgeous 78-foot express-style flybridge sport yacht first released in 2006 by renowned Tampa-based shipyard Lazzara Yachts. American-made with molto Italian style, the first hull to launch featured a bold merlot exterior that was equal parts sporty and sumptuous – two characteristics that carry through the outdoor areas and interiors of this yacht. Though production of this model ended in 2014, it remains a much sought-after model on the used and charter markets around the world. Sleeping up to 6 people overnight and 12 guests aboard during the day, the LSX 78 is a top-rate boat for entertaining.
With four suites and a crew quarters for up to two crew members, life aboard this yacht is a truly lavish experience. Owners will enjoy a large full-beam amidships suite with a walkaround king-size bed. To port, a glass desk allows you to catch up on your correspondence, while a large loveseat to starboard is the perfect spot for reading or just spacing out as you watch the waves. Panoramic windows with shades allow in as much light as you desire. Two bureaus to port and starboard with six drawers each provide ample storage for your wardrobe, while a veneered nightstand on either side of the bed offers a stylish resting place for a glass of water, a book, your watch, or anything else you’d like close at hand. An ensuite bathroom boasts a marble vanity top with two undermount sinks and brushed nickel fixtures, a closet with mirror doors, a further bureau with dresser drawers, Headhunter marine toilet and signature Lazzara details like towel bars, tissue holders, wall-mounted soap dishes and tumbler holders. A show panel system with multiple body sprays offers a true spa-experience within the full-size, glass-enclosed marble shower.
The forward VIP room is worthy of the name, with a queen bed, hanging locker, a storage cabinet with drawers and shelves, and a deck hatch with a blackout screen, perfect for when you just want to sleep in. Underbed storage offers further space for guests’ wardrobes and belongings. The private en suite bathroom features marble shower with handheld showerhead, a glass-enclosed shower, medicine cabinet, vanity with marble countertop, and a Headhunter marine toilet. Two further guest rooms are found to port and starboard, each with a double bed, panoramic windows, hanging locker with full-length mirrored door, nightstand, underbed storage, and en suite heads nearly identical to those of the larger suites. The crew quarters have access to the engine room and main deck and are equipped with lower and upper bunks that sleep up to two crew, who can wind down from a hard day at sea with an LCD TV. This area also enjoys an en suite bathroom with shower, sink, and Headhunter marine toilet.
Out on the aft deck, two short stairways on either side of the transom lead to the aft sport deck with a large hydraulic swim platform and a tender garage. Once you’ve returned from a swim or a ride on your tender, venture back up to find a gleaming cockpit bar with two bar stools. At the transom, a settee curves around a large hi-lo table while a generous sunpad rests behind it, perfect for al fresco dining and lounging. Side decks lead to the bow, where further seating is available.
A sliding glass door leads to the stunning salon features two three-seater sofas and a coffee table, perfect for receiving your guests, close to a discreet aft portside day head with toilet and sink. Forward, you’ll find a stylish starboard helm with a helm seat and a double-wide mate’s seat – each with adjustable footrests – that allows guests to interact with the captain. This lower helm is well equipped with two helm seats, perfect for sailing partners and couples, as well as a range of hi-tech navigation equipment, including a steering wheel, joystick, throttle, and three large display screens.
The galley and dinette are situated in an atrium-style area that can be reached via a short portside staircase. Suffused with natural light, this space is distinct but still connected to the main salon. The U-shaped countertops curve into a lovely breakfast bar with two barstools, perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning or a cocktail at night. A full-size standing two-drawer fridge-freezer with an icemaker is close at hand, while a large sink, cooktop, microwave/convection oven, and a glass serving area offer everything you need to cook up gourmet fare. Enjoy the fruits of your – or your chef’s – labor at the stylish U-shaped dinette.
Up on the flybridge, guests and owners alike will delight at the ample seating for lounging and dining. To port, a J-shaped settee curls around a large dining table, while a curvy seating area to port of the helm allows passengers to interact with captain and mate. With four Volvo IPS 600 pod engines, owner-operators will zip along at max speeds of 30 knots, with a comfortable cruising speed of 26 knots.
