The Lazzara 68 is a 68-foot luxury motor yacht with a flybridge that was produced by the iconic Florida-based yacht-building firm Lazzara Yachts between the years of 2004 and 2008. Easily identified by its cresting wave side windows, rounded flybridge hood, sinuous curves and aerodynamic flair, this undeniably sleek vessel pairs high-performance to its sporty looks. Living spaces are split between more modern outdoor spaces built around entertaining and enjoying the climate, and interiors with a more sedate vibe.
A curving forward sunpad for two with headrests out on the foredeck is matched by an entirely sheltered, teak-lined aft-cockpit with a transom sofa and a timber-topped dining table. Side steps back here lead to a full-beam bathing platform and access to a huge transom garage capable of storing a 10-foot jet tender. Yet most guests stepping aboard this impressive model are likely to immediately head to the flybridge, where both open and shaded elevated retreats await. At the back of the flybridge there is room for a sunpad or a set of sun-loungers, with a wet-bar station and an electric grill positioned to port. Further forward and hidden under a curving hood sit a pair of C-shaped sofas in piped upholstery with cocktail tables, along with an upper helm that benefits from superb visibility and a pair of piloting seats.
Makore cherry surrounds await as you step into the main-deck salon, a more classically designed space with plush carpeting, rounded cabinets, glossy accents and a pair of lavish and comfortable sofas. There is also room in here for a circular dining table, while a timber and mirrored bulkhead separates the living room from the main-deck galley and dinette. The kitchen boasts a prep island, granite countertops, a KitchenAid 4-zone hob and convection oven, a GE microwave, a SuperBa fridge-freezer unit, a stainless-steel sink and plenty of cabinets, while the dining lounge is comprised of an L-shaped sofa hugging a breakfast table. Enthusiastic owner-operators will enjoy the main helm to starboard, where they will encounter a reclining leather Stidd helm chair facing an ergonomic dashboard with bow and stern thruster controls, Simrad electronics, Robertson autopilot, VHF radio, CCTV feedback and plenty of analogue instrumentation.
Three en suite cabins below-deck provide opulent space for overnight rest for up to six guests. Rooms feature tasteful décor with wide beds, oval portholes, cherry paneling, mirrored surfaces, full-height closets and soft carpeting. The master suite sits amidship and features a king-sized bed, a work-desk, bedside cabinets, a side sofa, a walk-in closet and a bathroom with marbled surfaces, a full-size bathtub and shower. Towards the bow there is also room for up to two members of staff with their own private facilities.
Twin 1000mhp Caterpillar C18 diesel engines fire this yacht to top speeds not far off 30 knots, with comfortable cruising speeds clocking in at approximately 26 knots. A moderate bow entry, hard-chines and a 14-degree transom deadrise help the vessel to stay both stable and efficient out on the water, while a set of hydraulic stabilizers enhance balance at zero speeds.
