The Hatteras M90 Panacera is a 91-foot luxury motor yacht with a flybridge that was launched by North Carolina’s premier yacht-building firm Hatteras in 2017. With a thousand-mile range at cruising speeds, powerful engines and a robust hull designed to stand up to rugged bluewater conditions, this is a super-yacht for the serious voyager. Yet deluxe interiors in a crisp, contemporary style, lavish al-fresco deck spaces and a sleek and modern profile also make this one of the most stylish and comfortable vessels that Hatteras has ever produced. No surprise, then, that the M90 Panacera was awarded with the title “Best of the Best” at the 2018 Robb Report awards.
The teak-lined flybridge on this model comes either as an open space with a hard-top canopy or with an enclosed pilothouse for all weather navigating, but whatever layout you choose there is masses of space up here. An open sunlounge to the rear is bound to be a hit with those who like to work on their summer tan, though this space can be fitted with a davit and used to store modern jet tenders. A walk-in wet-bar with a grill and an ice-chipper saves you from heading downstairs to mix cocktails and barbecue fresh shrimp, while a pair of plush sofas and a breakfast table make for a cool and breezy lounge space dripping with style. At the front of the bridge sits the yacht’s main helm station, where HATTCon touch-screen monitors sits alongside Furuno radar, Garmin GPS, electronic power-steering, thruster controls, a twin-disc control system and a pair of adjustable Crown helm-chairs.
A pair of Portuguese Bridge sofas and an adjoining sunpad await out on the foredeck, where you can enjoy secluded aperitifs while gazing out to the horizon on an early evening. To the rear, meanwhile, there is a transom sofa and a wet-bar in the aft-cockpit, as well as side steps down to a full-beam hydraulic swimming platform with teak-lined bathing steps. Guests should not overlook the port-side side-deck, where tall bulwark foldouts to transform into a sturdy cocktail terrace that connects to the salon via a sliding glass door.
Interior spaces lined in satin-finished European walnut with rosewood accents glisten in the sunshine that pours in through rear sliding glass doors, frameless side windows and a forward atrium with elevated glazing. A minimalist approach to design further emphasizes the sense of space in here, where upholstered sofas, wide armchairs, bespoke coffee tables, an eight-seater dining table with Holly Hunt chairs and a home entertainment system with a widescreen HD TV await. At the front of internal cockpit there is a country-kitchen with dinette sofa, where you will discover an icemaker, under-counter Sub-Zero chilled storage, a wine cooler, a Miele hob and oven, marble counter-tops and a stainless-steel bucket sink.
Up to eight guests can enjoy a peaceful night’s rest across four lower deck cabins. At the bow there is an en-suite double stateroom with plentiful storage, amidship there are a pair of twin rooms that share a bathroom, while to aft there is an owner’s stateroom with a king-sized bed, a loveseat, a vanity station, a walk-in dressing room and a double bathroom with a waterfall shower.
You can expect top speeds of 25 knots at full-throttle thanks to a pair of 1902MHP CAT C-32 ACERT diesel engines connected to 8-bladed, tunneled propellers. At cruising speeds of around 10 knots the Hatteras M90 Panacera can traverse an incredible 1300 nautical miles, more than enough for extended island-hopping. A proprietary hull is one of the heaviest and most durable seen on a yacht of this class and has been built to withstand the choppy conditions one expects off the North Carolina coast. ABT-Trac stabilizers, meanwhile, keep this yacht feeling stable and serene at zero-speed.
