The Galeon 660 Fly is a 72-foot sports cruiser yacht with a flybridge that was launched by Polish boat-building company Galeon in 2014. Galeon partnered with industry icon Tony Castro to produce this sleek model, and the 660 Fly immediately impresses with swooping lines, curved glazing and a huge amount of outdoor space. As discerning clients have come to expect from this firm’s yachts, the interiors are luxurious, stylish and hand-finished by Galeon’s own craftsmen, and have a feel that is both intuitive and comfortable. Though one of the larger vessels offered by Galeon, the 660 Fly nevertheless rides like a much nimbler boat thanks to a versatile planing hull and a set of powerful engines.
This yacht is sure to be a hit with lovers of the outdoors, as there is plenty of al-fresco, sun-kissed lounge space across its two decks. The flybridge boasts a hard-top canopy with a retractable sunroof, and this elevated, teak-lined space features a U-shaped sofa with a table to aft as well as a full-beam forward sunpad with views out across the bow. There is also a wet-bar station up here with a sink, a Kenyon griddle and chilled storage, as well as a full set of helm controls. One level down and you will find a pair of curved sunpads out on the foredeck, while at the back there is a shaded aft deck with a transom sofa and a breakfast table. Side steps lead down to a double-length swimming platform at the stern with a hydraulic lift mechanism that can be used to lower modern tenders into the water.
Interiors are clad in glossy walnut or pale oak, while furnishings have been lined in authentic leather or suede for a plush and elegant feel. To the rear of the salon there is a low-slung U-shaped sofa and a loveseat surrounding a glass-topped coffee table, separated from a dining sofa by a couple of steps. To port you will discover a walk-in galley with Corian counter-tops, a four-zone ceramic hob, a combination oven, a stainless-steel serving platform and under-counter chilled storage. The starboard-side main deck helm station, meanwhile, benefits from superb visibility out of sloping windscreen windows, and features Raymarine HybridTouch display screens, Side Power thruster controls, Humphree trim tabs, a joystick and adjustable Opacmare helm seating.
The Galeon 660 Fly is the perfect yacht for extended cruising with the entire family thanks to its generously proportioned, four-stateroom lower deck layout. A twin bunk berth to port is joined by an en-suite twin to starboard and an en-suite double stateroom with an armchair and a full-height closet up by the bow. Located amidship there is a full-beam owner’s stateroom with a king-sized bed, a work desk, a chaise-longue, wardrobe space and a granite-clad bathroom with a waterfall shower. Lower deck rooms benefit from skylights, mullioned hull glazing and recessed mood lighting to accentuate the sense of lightness and space down here.
A pair of 1000MHP MAN V8 diesel engines provide top speeds of up to 27 knots, while at a cruising speed of 22 knots you can expect a range of 256 nautical miles.
