Since it first debuted at the 2026 Palm Beach International Boat Show, Polish builder Galeon’s 520 FLY has impressed buyers and critics with its expansive live-aboard design. An evolution of the highly popular 500 FLY, which took its cues from the even larger 560 FLY, this 56-footer offers innovative entertainment options and lavish details that redefine its class. From its serene, contemporary styling, courtesy of acclaimed designer and regular Galeon collaborator Tony Castro, to its robust, wave-eating V-hull, the 520 FLY will compliment any coastline you choose to navigate, from the wine-dark Med to the bright blue Caribbean Sea.
One of the standout features of this yacht is its integration of superyacht-style amenities, most notably the private entrance to the owner’s suite, a first for a Galeon yacht of this size. Other luxe options include the easily-operated drop-down “Beach Mode” side balconies with glazed panels that allow unobstructed views of the water, increasing the beam by more than 6 feet. This abundant sense of space and seamless connection to the elements is a recurring motif on this boat, which also boasts exquisite long side windows and a sliding glass door system throughout the main deck, delivering panoramic views that dissolve the boundaries between interior and exterior.
Stepping aboard, users will notice a hydraulic swim platform that facilitates easy launch and retrieval of tender, while an integrated stairway allows swimmers quick and safe access to the water (when the platform is not lowered, there is a standard swim ladder to port). A spacious storage garage can accommodate a tender of up to 9 feet in length, although owners can choose to turn this space into a crew cabin. A sink and grill are integrated into the front of the garage, while up on the aft deck, a U-shaped seating area wraps around a high-low table. With Galeon’s signature “Carousel Mode” package, a rotating sofa means guests can choose to face forward toward the salon for maximum sociability, or aft to take in the water’s majesty. The bow offers further lounge space, with a large seating area and a table that drops down to create a generous sunpad.
On the main deck, tasteful interiors by InSitu & Partners feature a splendid interplay of light hues and rich brown accents that elevate the sense of openness that prevails elsewhere in the yacht. The open-plan galley, which sits portside and faces an opening window, is equipped with wraparound countertops, a full-sized fridge-freezer, sink, cooktop, microwave, dishwasher, and storage throughout. Connected to the portside side-deck and the salon, this is a social centerpiece, allowing the chef to mingle with guests whether they’re seated at the L-shaped dining area, mingling at the window, or cruising at the helm. With the “Beach Mode” package, the galley turns into a coastal bar with stylish stool seating on the balcony.
Situated to starboard, the lower helm is sleek, practical and comfort-forward. The bench seat turns into a bolster to accommodate a range of piloting styles, while a large side door offers exceptional access to the side-deck, making nimble work of docking. Twin multi-function displays, streamlined Volvo Penta controls and a bow and stern thruster to the left of the steering wheel streamline navigation. Powered by twin Volvo Penta D11 engines with 725HP apiece and a fuel capacity of 475 gallons, operators can expect top speeds of up to 30 knots.
The superb flybridge is 520’s ace card. Easily accessed via a staircase with grabrails that ensure a safe ascent, Galeon’s sharp sense of style is on full display up here: guests are immediately met with a riot of gleaming brightwork that recalls Art Deco ocean-liners which compliments the aft lounge with classic nude shades of upholstery that snake around a marble-effect table with a bright wood lining. Sheltered beneath the hardtop, al fresco dining is practically mandatory up here – relaxing with a cold glass of white and an unctuous charcuterie board is simply the honorable thing to do.
At the upper helm, two ergonomic captain’s chairs with bolsters face a console with two screens (and room for a third), an adjustable steering wheel and a simple, easy-to-use control setup. To port, there is a further set of forward-facing seats and a supplemental screen that allows group navigation. Impressively, Galeon has made brilliant use of the space ahead of the helm, filling in the void with a sunpad.
Below deck, three cabins accommodate up to six guests across a privately-accessed amidships owner’s suite and two guest cabins, which include a large VIP suite and a well-appointed third cabin with two twin beds that slide into a double. The owner’s suite, which occupies the full beam of the yacht, is accessed via private stairs located on the main deck to aft and starboard. Big hull windows invite in plenty of natural light, while a chaise to port is a great spot to relax with a book at the end of the day, while a starboard vanity table (complete with mirror) offers a dedicated spot to get ready for the day – or night – ahead. This very private cabin naturally features an en suite head, with a surprising amount of headroom and a large shower cubicle.
