The Galeon 385 Open is a 40-foot open-top express cruiser that was produced by Polish yacht-building firm Galeon between the years of 2013 and 2017. Designed in collaboration with renowned naval architect Tony Castro and bearing the same sleek looks and dynamic hull as Galeon’s 385 HTS, this sporty boat is ideal for warm-weather weekend cruising thanks to its wealth of stylish al-fresco main deck lounge space and pair of lower-deck cabins. Capable of reaching thrilling top speeds, superbly balanced on the turn and boasting an unbeatable connection to the elements, owner-operators will love piloting this exciting yacht to isolated coves and secluded beaches.
The sun-kissed main deck features plenty of room to work on your summer tan, with a pair of curved sunpads out on the foredeck offering an ideal place to snap some Instagram pics. At the stern, meanwhile, the focus is placed more on water-based pursuits, with a fully hydraulic, full-beam, teak-lined bathing platform sure to be a hit with those who like to dip their toes into the water. Also located back here is an automatic garage where you can store your modern water toys and snorkeling gear, sure to be a hit with adrenalin junkies. Just up from the bathing platform you will discover an al-fresco cockpit with only a radar arch overhead, through wrap-around size glazing and an optional Bimini cover come in handy to protect from the worst the weather can throw at you. This teak-lined space features a large U-shaped sofa that sits up against the transom and the port-side of the boat, surrounding an extending timber table with maple inlay where you will enjoy many a cocktail or lavish meal. Across from this there is a wet-bar station with a Kenyon grill, Corian work surfaces, an ice-chipper and chilled storage, perfect for barbecuing up freshly caught snapper or mixing sophisticated drinks. Also located on this level is a side chaise-longue and a double helm seat facing a dashboard with Raymarine display panels, a docking joystick, trim-tab controls and a roadster-style power-assisted steering wheel.
There is plenty of natural light across the spacious lower-deck rooms, thanks to a skylight by the bow, knife-insert hull windows and glazed ceiling panels. There is room down here for a walnut or oak-lined lobby with an L-shaped dining sofa in suede or leather surrounding a breakfast table, as well as an open galley with a two-zone hob, a microwave and fridge-freezer units. Both cabins on this level feature en-suite facilities, hidden storage and hanging lockers, while up to four guests can enjoy a good night’s rest across a pair of twins and a double bed to aft and bow respectively.
You can enjoy top speeds of up to 40 knots when piloting the Galeon 385 Open at full-throttle. Engine options range from 225MHP Volvo Penta D4 diesels to 370MHP Volvo Penta D6 engines, while a proprietary deep-V hull offers a comfortable, efficient and well-balanced ride whatever the conditions.
