The Ferretti 500 is a 50-foot luxury motor yacht with a flybridge that was launched by iconic Italian yacht-building firm Ferretti in 2021. This new addition to the fleet is marketed as an entry-level yacht, but this is a vessel that shares the same effortless style, luxury finish and innate seaworthiness of this brand’s much larger, not to mention much more expensive, yachts. Naval architect Filippo Salvetti has produced an elegant exterior with clean lines and a sharp profile, while design studio Ideaitalia have crafted interiors with a restrained and contemporary feel. With so many Ferretti Yachts for sale on the market today, let the expert team at SI Yachts help you evaluate the potential boats that fit your needs and budget.
There’s nothing to separate you from sun and sky up on the 136-square foot, al-fresco, teak-lined flybridge, where you are met by an L-shaped sofa to the rear that hugs a timber dining table. Next to this there is a wet-bar station with a Gaggenau grill and chilled storage, as well as the port side upper helm station. Rounding out the bridge’s sun-kissed appeal is a forward double daybed with headrests that is the perfect place to work on your tan during long summer voyages. Another sunpad, this time for up to four guests, sits out on the foredeck one level down and features marina-facing views where the Instagram set are likely to snap their most dramatic pics. To the rear, meanwhile, there is an aft-cockpit with a transom sofa and a breakfast table, as well as a pair of side steps leading down to a full-beam swimming platform that is large and robust enough to host a Williams 325 jet tender.
Ferretti yachts are well-known for interiors that are as comfortable as they are glamorous, and the 500 is no exception to this rule. You can choose between two chic design motifs, with either rich Portofino walnut or pale Santorini oak setting the tone indoors. Either way, you can expect a novel layout with the galley positioned aft so that it opens up directly onto the aft-cockpit when you slide those floor-to-ceiling glass doors wide open. The galley boasts Gres stone tiles and white marble work surfaces, a Bosch combination oven, a four-zone induction hob, a deep stainless-steel sink and below-counter fridge-freezer units. Ahead of this you will find a pair of Zimmer+Rohde sofas sitting on a Cadorin parquet floor from where you can gaze wistfully out of panoramic side windows to the seas beyond. There is also a main-deck helm station on this level with Humphree dynamic trim controls, a trio of Simrad touch-screen monitors, thruster controls, a Xenta joystick and hydraulic power-steering.
A classic three stateroom and two-head layout on the lower-deck provides sleeping space for up to six overnight guests, across a starboard bunk berth, an en-suite double stateroom to the bow and an owner’s stateroom amidship. The full-beam owner’s room benefits from trapezoidal hull glazing, a side sofa, a work desk, a pair of full-height closets and a king-sized bed with bedside cabinets.
Ferretti have saved you the hassle of picking out an engine from an endless list of options by fitting each 500 with the same motor, a Cummins QSB 6.7 diesel engine. You can reach top speeds of just over 30 knots while pushing this yacht to its limit, while at cruising speeds of 25 knots you can expect a range of around 200 nautical miles. There is also the option to fit this vessel with a Seakeeper gyrostabilizer to eliminate roll while at rest.
