The Ferretti 960 is a 95-foot luxury motor yacht with a flybridge and a raised pilothouse that was produced by iconic Italian yacht-building firm Ferretti between 2013 and 2021. A collaborative effort between the in-house Ferretti team and naval stylists Studio Zuccon, this vessel’s sharp edges, sleek panoramic glazing, dramatic cutaway gunwales and lavish flybridge are bound to attract admiring glances in marinas worldwide. Built on top of the same planing hull that was used by the 881, but with an additional 9 foot at the stern, this is a Ferretti yacht that is compact and nimble enough to be legally piloted by an owner-operators, but large enough to be equipped with super-yacht facilities such as vast interior spaces, an innovative tender garage and an aft-beach club setting.
Authentic teak decking, a hard-top canopy with a sunroof and ivory-toned upholstered sofas await as guests clamber up to the 30-foot flybridge, where nothing but stainless-steel guardrails and a forward windscreen separate you and your guests from inspiring blue-water views. There is space up here for a rear sun lounge with a jacuzzi spa-pool, a U-shaped dining sofa, and a starboard-side wet-bar with an icemaker and an electric grill, while a full set of outdoor helm controls sit well positioned to port. A companionway door at the front of the bridge leads into the raised pilothouse, where an adjustable leather helm seat faces a trio of Simrad display screens, autopilot function, CCTV feedback, ABT-TRAC bow and stern thruster controls, a docking joystick, VHF radio and power-steering.
Up to six sunworshippers can work on their summer tan out on the foredeck, where a pair of triple-width, elevated sunpads boast marina-facing views, while loveseats positioned up by the bow offer room for four more guests to enjoy late afternoon aperitifs. Yet it is at the stern where this yacht really makes waves, as side steps lead down from a sheltered aft-deck with a transom dining sofa toward a full-beam Besenzoni hydraulic bathing platform and access to a floating and self-draining tender garage capable of hosting a Williams 445 turbojet tender. The garage door comes fitted with cushions, giving this stern area a beach-club feel when the garage is not in use.
Condaria tropical air conditioning keeps interior spaces aboard the Ferretti 960 climate-controlled at all times, while a sense of free-flowing space is enhanced by cinema-screen glazing and full-height sliding glass doors to the rear and sides. The main deck salon can be clad in your choice of white oak or rich walnut and is large enough to not only host a sprawling low-slung lounge but also a formal dining space. To port there is a Euro-style enclosed galley with Miele and Bosch appliances that features direct access to the crew quarters below deck. This opens up space at the front of the main deck for a secluded owner’s stateroom with a king-sized bed, a walk-in dressing room, a work desk and a full-beam double bathroom with ceramic sinks and a waterfall shower cubicle. Four more en-suite double cabins are to be found on the lower-deck, each benefiting from trapezoidal hull glazing, plush carpeting underfoot and plenty of storage space.
Top of the range engine options include a pair of MTU 16V M96L 2638MHP shaft-drive engines that deliver top speeds touching the 32-knot mark. At the more sedate pace of 11 knots, meanwhile, you can cruise to your heart’s content, with a range of well over 1,000 nautical miles more than achievable. An ARG system comes installed as standard, though many owners choose to upgrade to Seakeeper 9 or traditional fin stabilizers to eliminate roll at zero-speed.
