The Azimut Grande 35 Metri is a 114-foot flybridge superyacht that was launched by the Viareggio, Italy-based firm in 2017. The longest yacht produced by Azimut in the Grande line, and the range’s flagship, the vessel features a number of exciting innovations such as a third-level sundeck above the flybridge, a side balcony, floor-to-ceiling main deck windows and a proprietary D2P hull with a wave piercer. An immediate hit with buyers and critics alike, the Grande 35 Metri won the award for “Best New Production Yacht Design” at the 2018 Boat International Design & Innovation Awards, as well as bagging prizes handed out by Yacht France and the Christofle Yacht Style Awards.
A sleek and lightweight carbon fiber and epoxy resin superstructure designed by Stefano Righini allows for the largest flybridge in its class at over 750 square feet, where you will discover a teak lined space with two six-seater sofas surrounding a linear coffee table, a circular conversation sofa, a set of armchairs and two three-seater helm sofas. There is also space up here for a wet-bar console and step access up to a towering sundeck for elevated and unimpeded views out across the water. One level down from the flybridge and there is a sheltered aft deck with a fitted sofa and an extending, hydraulic swimming platform that is large enough to host a beach club setup, as well as access to a transom garage that can accommodate a 4m tender as well as a jet ski. On the elongated foredeck there is a fitted, Portuguese Bridge sofa as well as two double-sized sunpads and even room for a jacuzzi spa pool. Azimut Yachts has executed an incredible vessel with Italian flare and innovated spaces for entertaining.
Interior spaces aboard the Grande 35 Metri are the work of trusted Azimut partner Achille Salvagni, who takes advantage of double-height side windows, cutaway gunwales and opening side balconies to craft a light and breezy internal atmosphere. A wide aft saloon is subject to customization, but can come fitted with a circular centerpiece sofa, cabinet space and a dining table, with surfaces and furnishings finished in authentic leather, refined upholstery, glazed mahogany, polished bronze and veined marble. Amidship you will find an enclosed galley with marble or quartz worktops, a convenient day-head and door access out to the side decks. Thanks to the raised pilot house, equipped with a Raymarine navigation system, there is space towards the bow for a main deck owner’s stateroom. This exceptional bedroom comes with cinema-screen windows from floor-to-ceiling that open out onto the largest instant balconies available on the market today, as well as a king-sized bed, a pair of armchairs, a work desk and two en-suite his-and-hers bathrooms.
Below-deck there are four en suite staterooms with room for up to 8 more overnight guests, as well as crew quarters towards the bow with space for 6 members of staff. Below deck rooms are accessed via a curving, under-lit stairwell and feature panoramic, single pane windows for plenty of natural light, as well as ample storage space.
It is perhaps engineering innovation, however, that truly sets the Azimut Grande 35 Metri apart from its peers. A unique displacement to planing double-chine hull designed by Pierluigi Ausonio is paired with a wave piercer for superb performance, reduced buoyancy and greater fuel efficiency. CMC Marine Stabilis Electra stabilizer fins and Dualis Electra thrusters provide dynamic and reliable responsiveness on the move, as well as a quiet and smooth ride. Dual MTU 16V 2000 M93 engines can power the yacht to top speeds of around 26 knots, while at cruising speeds of 8 knots there is an oceanic range of 1,100 nautical miles.
