The Azimut Grande 27 Metri is an 87-foot-10-inch megayacht designed launched at the Cannes Yachting Festival in 2017. Designed by leading naval architect Stefano Righini, the 27 Metri is a marriage between sleek, fluid lines and a wide, muscular structure with ample space, Italian style, and plush amenities. A perfect marriage of beauty and functionality, the 27 Metri rides like a dream thanks to Perluigi Ausonio’s deep-V hull and carbon fiber technology which is applied throughout the yacht, allowing an increase in volume and surface without adding extra weight for an unmatched degree of dynamic stability.
None of the volume in this roomy Azimut Yacht is wasted: the forward seating and sunpad are on separate tiers, providing an organic, free-flowing division between the U-shaped loungers and large, three-seater sunpad. The stern has a garage with a door that converts into a beach platform. Light, natural teak stairs lead to a sheltered cockpit with sedate C-shaped seating and long table capable of seating up to eight with added dining chairs. It is fully equipped with a television and a wetbar with refrigerator.
The helmstation is generous for a yacht of this class, with excellent visibility and a pilot-berth sofa to port that provides plenty of room and comfort for the crew. Chrome, teak, and mahogany predominate throughout. The innovative Optimus Electronic Power Steering system by Seastar Solutions delivers a smooth but thrilling ride. Helm responsiveness can be customized by regulating wheel turns and steering effort according to speed; the Optimus system also eliminates the hydraulic piping between the helmstation and the rudder compartment.
Interior and exterior furnishings are designed by award-winning designer Achille Salvagni: graceful, soft beige furnishings with dark wood accents provide a sedate yet highly sophisticated sense of luxury, while raw wood accents sit in harmonious contrast with sophisticated, glossy mahogany fittings. The maindeck salon is opulent yet restrained, with an open layout that allows free-flowing communication and movement from the living area to the mahogany dining table that seats up to 10 people.
The standout feature of the 27 Metri is its unique layout, which sleeps up to 8. The full-beam master suite, located on the main deck, is large and airy, and comfortably accommodates a king-size bed, seating, and an elegant but discreet vanity table with an integrated mirror and storage for makeup and personal items. Taking advantage of the wide body structure, Azimut has installed picture windows that nearly rise to the ceiling for an unobstructed view. Like all of the cabins, the master suite has an en suite bathroom and ample under-bed storage. 2 queen cabins and 2 twin cabins are located below-deck.
The 27 Metri boasts fuel-efficient twin 1,900-mhp MAN V-12 engines that top out at 28 knots with a cruising speed of 24 knots.
