The Azimut Grande 25 Metri is an 87-foot flybridge superyacht that was launched by the Viareggio, Italy based firm in 2019. Nicknamed the “Baby Grande”, this vessel is the smallest superyacht produced by Azimut, yet still manages to provide plenty of luxurious living space across three exquisite decks and a wide, 20-foot beam.
With a striking carbon-tech superstructure designed by Stefano Righini, and interior styling provided by Achille Salvagni, this is an unashamedly contemporary yacht that delivers both high performance and sumptuous style. The Grande 25 Metri has already bagged numerous accolades from industry insiders and was awarded the title for “Best Motor Yacht in Asia” at the 2019 Chrisofle Yacht Style Awards; it also won the Robb Report’s coveted “Best of the Best” title in the same year. Winning awards is nothing new, however, for Azimut Yachts.
The spacious open flybridge is sure to be the most popular outdoor space on the Grande 25 Metri. The teak-lined bridge boasts room for a jacuzzi spa pool, a U-shaped leather sofa to port, a faux marble-topped dining table, a sunpad, a walk-in wetbar with a barbecue grill and a set of upper helm controls. One level down and the extended foredeck will give the flybridge a run for its money. Here you will find a U-shaped, Portuguese Bridge-style sofa as well as a three-pad sunbed for marina-facing sunbathing. Wide side-decks with a starboard boarding gate lead you back towards a sheltered aft-deck with a transom sofa and a teak coffee table, with steps down towards a hydraulic swimming platform with a passarelle and a large tender garage capable of storing a Pirelli 3.9 Azimut jet tender.
Step indoors and designer Achille Salvagni’s signature sleek curves and attention to detail are very much in evidence. Golden handrails, leather panelling, steam-curved joinery, frosted glass partitions, bronze fixtures, under-lit stairwells, marble surrounds, authentic timber floors and refined carpeting combine to produce a feel of unabashed luxury. The main salon layout can be customised to provide room for either a central dining table or a sprawling, J-shaped sofa with room for up to 10 guests. There is also space on the main deck for a dayhead, an aft wetbar, an enclosed galley kitchen with Miele appliances, a helm station with snug sofa and plenty of extra seating and storage space. No matter what layout you choose this main deck space will always appear light and breezy thanks to rear sliding glass doors, huge side windows and a cutaway gunwale for unobstructed views of the ocean.
The lower deck living quarters benefit from bulky strip windows cut into the side of the hull for plenty of natural light, with a pair of widescreen, single-pane windows amidship. There are four en-suite bedrooms with room for up to 8 overnight guests, including the stand-out master stateroom which includes a king-sized bed, pair of armchairs, vanity desk, a walk-in closet and a bathroom decked out in Tuscan Cardosa stone. There is also room below-deck for a crew quarters with its own living space should you wish to bring staff with you on your voyages out to sea.
The Azimut Grande 25 Metri utilises an innovative GRP planing hull with a trapezoidal bow, designed by Pierluigi Ausonio, for a slippery ride, reduced spray and minimal pitching in rougher seas. The boat also benefits from an Optimus Electronic Power Steering system from Seastar for the sort of responsive handling you would expect from a luxury sports car. Like a sports car, this yacht features handstitched leather helm chairs custom made by legendary Italian automotive firm Ferrari, for superb comfort as you command your vessel. Dual MAN 1800MHP engines can power the Azimut Grande 25 Metri to top speeds of up to 28 knots, with reasonable cruising speeds in the range of 24 knots, while Humphree Active Trim Control provides that extra level of efficiency on the move. An integrated control panel courtesy of Raymarine neatly packs all of your instrumentation and controls onto a single touchscreen tablet for convenient and reliable navigation.
