The Azimut EVO 55 is a 55-foot flybridge motoryacht that was produced by the Italian boat building firm between 2005 and 2011. Defined by a curvaceous profile, cresting-wave side windows and masses of leisure and entertaining space, the Azimut EVO 55 remains immensely popular on the used and charter markets.
The EVO 55 was designed to be the next step in the evolution of Azimut flybridge yachts, and this model does not disappoint. A contemporary interior courtesy of Carlo Galeazzi is complemented by a sleek and artful exterior designed by industry icon Stefano Righini, while high-performance diesel shaft-drive engines bring the Azimut flybridge range into the 21st century. The expansive flybridge on this vessel boasts a cocoon-style C-shaped leather sofa to starboard that adjoins a forward sunpad. This sits alongside the port side wet-bar console with an icemaker and an electric grill, as well as an upper helm station kitted out with the latest Garmin or Simrad controls. Towards the rear of the bridge is room for a set of three sun-loungers, though since this area comes with a tender crane it can also be used to store your choice of water toys.
On the main deck level there is a sunpad out on the secluded foredeck, as well as a sheltered, teak-lined aft deck with a low-slung transom sofa, a hydraulic passarelle and another outdoor wet-bar with a barbecue. Starboard side steps lead you down to a swimming platform with detachable stainless-steel guardrails, where many a memorable water-based adventure is sure to begin.
Stepping indoors through curved, Italian-glass sliding doors and you will discover a large, split-level living space in glossy cherrywood, bright rosewood and cream-tone leather with finishing touches in tempered glass, stainless-steel and lacquered fiberglass. The aft salon is a sinuous space full of U-shaped sofas, circular cabinetry, and oval-shaped coffee tables, while a couple of steps up you will find an elliptical walk-in galley. This kitchen area features a bar with a glass and steel serving platform, pale granite or white marble worktops, a double-sink and high-end Miele appliances. There is also a U-shaped dining sofa with a dining table on this level, as well as the main helm station.
On the lower deck there is a side twin berth as well as two master en suite staterooms. The first sits towards the bow and benefits from a skylight, porthole windows and a queen-sized bed, while the owner’s full-beam stateroom is positioned amidship. This room boasts generously proportioned butterfly windows, a curved sleeping area with a king-sized island bed, space for a work-desk or a loveseat, and a charming bathroom with marble counters and a circular shower cubicle.
Of course, the EVO 55 would not be an Azimut vessel worthy of the name if it did not boast high-performance out on the open water. Luckily, this yacht is equipped with twin Caterpillar C12 ACERT engines for top speeds in excess of 31 knots and consistent cruising speeds of around 24 knots. Side-Power bow and stern thrusters offer excellent responsive agility on the move, while a sturdy monohull provides reduced drag and superb stability as you glide across the waves.
