The Azimut 72 Fly is a 74-foot luxury motoryacht with a flybridge that was launched by the award-winning Italian yacht-building company Azimut at the 2023 Cannes Yacht Show. A radically redesigned update of the popular 72 Flybridge, Azimut enlisted naval stylist Alberto Mancini to craft this sleek masterpiece in carbon-fiber. Aerodynamic lines, an assertive form, sculptural curves, a metallic livery and masses of tinted glazing give this yacht a thoroughly 21st century look, while living spaces for the whole family offer demure and sophisticated room to relax and entertain.
A teak-lined flybridge features wrap-around windscreen glazing for protection from spray as well as a floating hard-top with a retractable sunroof so that you can tailor a blend of sunshine and shade to match your mood. Up here there is room for a pair of Ottomans to aft, a double-width sunpad, a forward sunpad and a broad U-shaped sofa that hugs a custom-built timber dining table. Also on the agenda up here is a walk-in American Bar with plenty of chilled storage and a pair of helm seats facing a starboard upper helm station.
A wide foredeck lounge lined in teak offers plenty of space to unwind and soak up the rays across a pair of modular sofas that can be transformed into sprawling daybeds as well as a forward sunpad for two, while bespoke coffee tables and drink coolers make socializing a breeze. Follow the steel guardrails all the way back to a sheltered aft-deck with a U-shaped transom sofa and another bar, or descend down side-steps to a full-beam swimming platform with a stern-side door that opens up to reveal a crew quarters for two.
Designer Fabio Fantolini makes his nautical debut on this yacht, opting for a contemporary and minimalist approach to space-making with a transversal layout style and updated motifs inspired by the very best of mid-century Italian design. Sliding glass doors and broad side-windows allow plenty of natural light to play against deluxe surfaces like high-gloss lacquer, bronze highlights, a selection of pale hardwoods, a muted color palette, fluted wall panels and lavish use of hand-stitched fabrics. You can expect to find a pair of sprawling sofas in here along with a dining table for up to eight guests, while to port there is your choice of either an enclosed or open galley kitchen. Up front there is companion booth seating and two helm seats facing a dashboard with power-steering, a Humphree interceptor active trim system, Raymarine MFD screens, a high-speed compass, VHF radio and space for your optional extras.
Tranquil lower-deck cabins boast horizontal strip windows or wide porthole glazing, and there is room down on this sedate level for up to eight overnight guests across four en-suite staterooms. A double cabin and a twin occupy the central portion of the hull, while nestled up by the bow there is a VIP double with two closets. A private amidship master stateroom boasts full-beam dimensions, a chaise-longue, a king-sized bed and a refined bathroom with two sinks and a wet-room shower.
A Pierluigi Ausonio-crafted fiberglass planing hull with class-A certification enhances agility and stamina as you take this supreme performer out for a spin. A pair of 1400HP MAN CR V12 engines should deliver top speeds approaching the 32-knot mark, while a smooth cruising speed of 26 knots promotes multi-day voyaging thanks to a fuel tank holding up to 1,373 gallons of diesel.
