The upper superstructure of this Azimut Yacht is constructed from next-generation carbon fiber, maximizing living space while reducing the vessel’s overall weight. The huge flybridge is a teak-lined marvel that generously curves outward to a full-beam width at its rear, with a tapered front that offers a snug dining area with a pair of helm seats. At the back you can place up to three sunloungers, keep a dinghy or even install a jacuzzi spa pool, while directly under the central radar arch there is room for an L-shaped sofa with a teak or marble topped dining table to port as well as a wet-bar with a barbecue grill to starboard. Side steps lead down to a sheltered aft cockpit where you will find a fitted transom sofa that hugs a teak breakfast table, as well as access to a generously proportioned swimming platform that is certain to be a hit with those who like to get their feet wet. Out on the foredeck there is superb sunbathing space across a Portuguese Bridge-style sofa and a modular sunpad area with headrests that is large enough to host three guests.
Interiors are the work of designer Carlo Galeazzi, who has created a breezy and laid-back space with elegant finishing touches including steel trim, limed oak floors, high gloss ebony or sycamore surrounds, and deluxe carpeting. Angular windows and circular, interconnecting strip lighting provide plenty of lighting during the day or at night, while floor-to-ceiling glazing on the starboard side is matched with a cutaway bulwark for superb views out to sea. Upon entering the internal cockpit you will find a large, L-shaped sofa and a love-seat, before coming to a same-level dining area with a table, a walk-in galley with marble counters and Miele appliances, as well as a forward snug area and pilothouse. The lower helm station is equipped with all the latest gadgets you need to chart a novel course across the oceans, including Humphree active trim controls and an integrated Raymarine control tablet.
Below deck space benefits from close to 7 feet of clearance, tall enough for even NBA stars to stand up straight, and four en suite staterooms. The amidship master stateroom features a pair of fitted armchairs, a king-sized island bed, a walk-in closet lined in cedar and a marble-clad bathroom with a pair of sinks, a large, gleaming vanity mirror and a timber-lined waterfall shower cubicle. Other bedrooms are surprisingly spacious for a yacht of this size, and, along with the rear crew quarters, provide for a total of 10 overnight guests and staff.
The Azimut 72 Flybridge strikes a great balance between luxury and performance, and can roar to top speeds of up to 32 knots thanks to a pair of MAN CR V12 engines. A hard-chine planing hull with a variable deadrise designed by Pierluigi Ausenio slips through the waves with ease, while a High Technical Standards declaration guarantees the highest possible industry standards for safety and reliability. The yacht also utilizes an innovative automatic fuel transfer e-pump, ensuring that the heel angle stays near zero whatever the circumstances.
