The Azimut 65 is a 68-foot flybridge motor yacht produced by the Italian yacht manufacturers in the mid-1990s. A vintage model with a classic Italian style, the Azimut 65 turned heads on launch thanks to an exterior that was designed in collaboration with Italian automotive firm Pininfarina, the company responsible for many an iconic sports car. And even though more than a quarter of a century has passed since the yacht was launched, the Azimut 65 still has the power to captivate seafarers the world over.
The sleek exterior on the Azimut 65 features a zig-zagging fiberglass superstructure that opens up space for expansive glazing to the sides, as well as ergonomic air-intake wings on the bridge, a feature imported from F1 cars that improves aerodynamic function and keeps the yacht running cool. The towering flybridge on this model is the ideal place to soak up the sun and boasts a tinted Venturi-style windshield on all sides for an expansive feel and great views. There is long, port-side leather sofa, an outdoor wet-bar with a barbecue and a U-Line icemaker, an upper helm station as well as dinghy storage or room for extra seating to the rear. One level down and you will find a foredeck with a sunpad, and a spacious, sheltered aft-deck with teak floors, a transom sofa, a fiberglass breakfast table and steps down to a full-beam, double-length hydraulic swimming platform with stainless steel guardrails.
Access to the cockpit is through arched, greenhouse-style glass doors, which open up to a curved seating area with U-shaped suede sofas and glossy cherrywood walls and cabinets. Positioned amidship and on the starboard side is a walk-in kitchen galley with granite worktops, a fridge, a convection oven and grill, a four-zone hob and a pair of sinks. At the front of the cockpit sits a helm station with Raymarine equipment, sofa-style seating and an adjacent U-shaped dining sofa with a teak table.
The Azimut 65 features 3 en suite bedrooms on the lower level, including a twin, a VIP berth towards the bow and a full-beam master stateroom with a queen-size bed, nightstands, hanging closets and a bathroom with marble surfaces, a jacuzzi tub and two sinks.
This yacht was one of the quickest on the water when launched and featured a pair of MTU 1150MHP diesel shaft line engines with top speeds in the range of 27 knots. A fuel tank holding 1,290 and efficient running means that this is a yacht that can take you far and wide on your nautical adventures, while Vetus bow thrusters and electro-hydraulic power steering make this a responsive and agile ride. The Azimut Yachts 65 is such an iconic and well-loved vessel that you will notice that most models available on the used and charter markets are exceptionally well looked after, with updated interiors and refits ensuring that this yacht will be out on the water for years to come.
