Since its inception, the Azimut 53 Flybridge has been a popular 55-foot luxury flybridge yacht with a sporty and modern feel. A sleek and sophisticated exterior styled by industry icon Alberto Mancini combines graceful, aerodynamic curves with unrivalled outdoor space that will be beloved by families and groups of friends who enjoy extended trips out to sea.
Azimut Yachts has played around with the layout on the large open flybridge, shifting the two-seater upper helmstation to an amidship position in order to install a forward full-beam sunpad with dramatic views out towards the bow. A teak-topped wetbar is located to starboard, while a hook-shaped sofa with a coffee table hugs the rear of the flybridge for an exquisite outdoor entertaining space. The wealth of al fresco relaxation space continues one level down on a foredeck that hosts a Portuguese bridge-style fitted sofa and a sumptuous three-pad sunbed with headrests for sublime marina-facing sunbathing. The aft deck features an upholstered, L-shaped transom sofa surrounding a teak breakfast table, as well as an angular wetbar console with a barbecue and icemaker to port. There are also starboard steps down to a hydraulic bathing platform that doubles as a dinghy storage, and rear access to a snug crew quarters below deck.
Double-plated sliding glass doors to the rear lead immediately into an aft-galley and dinette with Miele appliances, black marble worktops and light timber cabinetry, while a couple of steps up leads to an amidship salon with a starboard loveseat and a U-shaped port sofa with an extending coffee table. Helm chairs in hand-stitched white leather sit to starboard and face a power-assisted steering wheel, an active trim control system, a Volvo Penta joystick and an integrated control and monitoring system provided by Garmin. The main deck cockpit benefits from the use of uninterrupted side windows, as well as inset mood lighting, for plenty of illumination during the day and at night.
Below deck there are three spacious staterooms accommodating up to 6 overnight guests, including a twin, an en-suite master bedroom to the bow and an amidship owner’s stateroom with widescreen windows, a fitted loveseat, a vanity station and a bathroom with a walk-in shower cubicle. All interiors on the Azimut 53 Flybridge have been designed and built in-house for a light and elegant feel, with high-quality surfaces and materials in a range of neutral tones.
The 53 Flybridge benefits from a proprietary Azimut planing hull with double IPS 950 D11 propulsion engines from Volvo for a smooth ride and top speeds in the range of 31 knots. A fuel capacity of 2400 litres, and efficient running at cruising speeds, makes this yacht the perfect option for island-hopping.
