The Azimut Atlantis 51 is a 53-foot sports cruiser yacht released in 2018. A collaborative effort between the Neo Design Group and Azimut’s in-house design team, this yacht is dripping with contemporary style inside and out and delivers best-in-class agility and sensational speed. An immediate hit with buyers and critics alike, the Atlantis 51 was nominated for the title of “European Powerboat of the Year” at the 2019 Düsseldorf Boat Show.
The main deck space on this yacht is kitted out in lightweight and durable Esthec composite or authentic teak and boasts plenty of outdoor entertaining space. On the foredeck is a modular, three-pad sunbed with a Bimini top, ideal for marina-facing sunbathing, while on the aft you will find an elevated sunpad and steps down to a full-beam hydraulic swimming platform and a tender garage. The aft cockpit area is open to the elements at the rear and features a retractable sunroof towards the front, while curved side windows allow for 360-degree views. There is room here for a sprawling, U-shaped sofa that runs along the port side of the boat from the transom as well as an extending coffee table, while there is also a cocoon-style daybed at the front. On the starboard side of the cockpit sits an angled wet-bar unit, a loveseat and a pair of helm chairs.
The kitchen galley has been moved to the lower deck to provide extra lounge space upstairs, but benefits from plenty of natural light thanks to the knife-insert windows that trace the side of the GRP hull. Here you will find doors in glossy wenge-wood, sleek worktops, and Miele-brand appliances such as a convection oven, induction range, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and sink. Across from the galley sits a surprisingly spacious diner with an upholstered, U-shaped dining sofa surrounding an extendable, light-oak dining table. One of the main benefits the Atlantis 51 has over its smaller partner the Atlantis 45 is a third guest cabin. Located amidship, this is large enough for a double-bed and closet space, while a further bunk cabin offers rest room for two guests. Located towards the beam is the en suite master stateroom which not only has strip windows to the sides but three double-panel skylights.
A pair of Volvo Penta IPS 800 engines offer the Azimut Atlantis 51 top speeds of around 35 knots and comfortable cruising speeds of around 30 knots. A fuel capacity of 1500 litres, and a range of 535 nautical miles at lower speeds, ensures plenty in reserve for longer trips island hopping, while a V-shape keel with an aft deadrise is slippery and smooth on the water. The installation of a Penta joystick and Volvo Interceptors offer that extra level of agility and balance while negotiating tricky marinas and inlets, while the use of a Garmin navigation and monitoring system promotes confident chart-plotting.
