The Azimut Verve 48 is a 49-foot outboard-powered day cruiser yacht launched by iconic Italian yacht-building company Azimut in 2024. Designed by Francesco Struglia with a Michael Peters-stepped hull, this sporty vessel boasts bullet-like aerodynamics, faceted edges, a super-sleek form and a metallic livery for a thoroughly modern and up-to-date look. Marketed as a weekend express cruiser, the Verve 48 transcends the day-boat category with chic and contemporary living space on the lower-deck able to accommodate up to six overnight guests in sheer luxury.
Head out onto the lavish foredeck to find a minimalist forward lounge comprising a leather-clad triple-width sunpad as well as a hook-shaped sofa for up to six guests nestled right up against the bow. The teak or Esthec-lined cockpit represents the social heart of this yacht, and boasts a sun-kissed L-shaped sofa that traces the starboard and transom edges of the vessel. Lined in plush neutral-toned upholstery with a Hi-Lo table, this sofa can connect to a fold-out sunpad to turn this space into one lavish casbah perfect for soaking up the rays. A port-side flip-down beach terrace, meanwhile, dramatically increases the sense of usable space back here, allowing guests to sip cocktails as they dangle their feet in the lapping water. You can also directly enter the sea from the stern, with a pair of swim platforms placed safely abreast of the outboard motors for family-friendly fun in the water.
Heading into the upper-cockpit, placed directly below a wrap-around hard-top with a retractable glazed sunroof, and you will find a sizeable wet-bar station with goodies like fridge-freezer storage and an outdoor grill. Ahead of this there are a trio of adjustable helm seats with arm-rests and pop-up bolsters that face a modern helm station featuring power-steering, Raymarine MFD screens with bundled instrumentation, bow thruster controls, an optional Seakeeper 6 stabilizer switch and room for your navigational extras.
A surprisingly capacious lower-deck salon impresses with horizontal strip glazing, pale hardwood surrounds, lavish grey upholstery and sedate mood lighting. Down here there is an L-shaped dining sofa with a table that can be lowered to turn this seating space into an extra double bed. Across from this there is an open galley with chilled storage, a two-zone hob, a sink and an oven, while the vessel’s main-head and shower is hidden behind a starboard side door. To aft there is a spacious twin room ideal for the kids or a pair of guests, while a forward stateroom nestled by the bow features a double island bed and two full-height lockers.
Powered by a triple-set of chunky 600HP Mercury Verado V12 outboard engines, the Verve 48 can reach top speeds of a blistering 50 knots at full-throttle. Extensive use of carbon-fiber and a lightweight tempered glass hard-top reduce overall tonnage, allowing for greater fuel efficiency at a cruising speed of 30 knots and expansive roaming distances at an economy cruise of 15 knots. Engine noise and vibration has also been significantly reduced when compared to previous models in the Verve fleet, while a 618-gallon fuel tank offers just enough stamina for weekend island-hopping adventures.
