The Absolute Navetta 48 is a 48-foot cruising yacht with a flybridge that was launched by the renowned Italian yacht-building firm Absolute in 2017. As entry-level introductions to the world of offshore trawlers go, there is unlikely to be anything more impressive, more stylish or more envied than this yacht. Superb fuel efficiency, a double-height snub-nosed bow, a rugged ocean-ready hull and powerful engines have been paired with an ultra-stylish, futuristic superstructure and interiors that are the height of Italian elegance. Cutaway gunwales, faceted angles, wrap-around glazing, hand-finished living spaces and high-class materials abound aboard this yacht, the smallest in the current Navetta range. Little wonder, then, that the Navetta 48 won the title for ‘Slovenian Boat of the Year’ at the 2019 Plovilo Leta awards.

The open-air flybridge on this model boasts a pair of sprawling seating areas, with a full-beam sunpad at the front connecting to a pair of chaise-longues and a U-shaped upholstered sofa to the rear that surrounds a teak-lined dining table. In the middle of it all stands a centrally located upper helm station with a leather, diamond-stitched helm chair, while to port there is a wet-bar station with a grill, an ice-chipper, a bucket sink and chilled storage.
Down on the foredeck you will find a modular sunpad that can be transformed into a marina-facing sofa thanks to an adjustable headrest, and at the stern you will find a fully sheltered aft-cockpit lined in waterproof teak with a transom dining sofa and side steps down to a fully hydraulic bathing platform.
A main-deck salon lined in two-toned oak with strip lighting and wrap-around windows awaits as you enter through a set of entirely retractable sliding glass doors. To aft there is an open galley with Calacatta marble work surfaces, a combination microwave oven, a stainless-steel sink, a two-zone induction hob, a full height fridge-freezer tower and both raised and below-counter storage. Ahead of this you will discover an angled loveseat across from a U-shaped dining sofa with a table, and an ergonomic starboard side helm station with Garmin EmpirBus multi-function display screens, thruster controls, VHF radio, a Penta joystick and a skipper’s door.
Bespoke craftsmanship is very much in evidence across the lower-deck, where you will find three cabins, two of them with en-suite facilities and each with cinema-screen hull windows, for up to six overnight guests. There is a twin to starboard that is large enough for a bedside cabinet and a full-height locker, while amidship to port there is a master stateroom with a double island bed, a walk-in dressing room, a vanity station and a side desk. Another capacious stateroom sits to the bow and hosts a double island bed, a vanity station and a walk-in closet. The two bathrooms on this level really show off Absolute’s total commitment to luxury finishes, and feature delights such as mirrored cabinets, Ceramic sinks with a silver-effect finish, veined marble surfaces, a glazed shower door and chunky stainless-steel fixtures.
Twin 435MHP Volvo Penta IPS600 D6 diesel pod-drive engines prompt full-throttle speeds of around 27 knots with smooth cruising speeds in the low-20 knot range. A semi-displacement hull in GRP with a CE class B certification has been designed to withstand choppy ocean waters, while the tremendous fuel efficiency on this model means that you can expect an offshore range of over 1470 nautical miles while cruising along at the sedate pace of 5.5 knots.
