The Absolute 70 STY is a 72-foot coupe-style sports cruiser yacht that was produced by the award-winning Italian yacht-building brand Absolute between 2008 and 2015. Bullet-like aerodynamics are matched by bullet-like speeds on this sleek and super-sporty vessel. Yet with hand-finished interiors, ultra-cool outdoor lounge spaces bathed in sunlight and a contemporary, Italian style, this yacht is about more than mere performance. It is no surprise, then, that the 70 STY won the prize for “Best Layout” in its class at the 2009 World Yacht Trophies held in Cannes, nor that this vessel remains in high-demand on the used and charter markets.

With this much space across a lengthy main deck you really do not miss the absence of a flybridge on this boat. On the extended foredeck you will find an al-fresco sun lounge with marina-facing views that features a triple-width sunpad with pop-up headrests and a U-shaped Portuguese Bridge sofa with a table that can be turned into a second sunpad. To the rear there is a teak-lined aft-cockpit with a transom dining sofa and a timber table, as well as a wet-bar station with a Trinox grill, an Isotherm ice-chipper, a fridge and a sink. The cockpit is sheltered by a glazed awning with a retractable tinted sunroof, one of two on this level, ensuring that you can control levels of sun or shade back here at the touch of a button. Side steps lead down to a fully hydraulic Besenzoni bathing platform that can be used to store a Williams jet-tender, as well as a transom garage for an inflatable dinghy and watersports equipment.
Two-tiered cresting wave windows, sliding glass doors to aft and an above-helm electronic glazed sunroof make this yacht’s salon one of the lightest and most atmospheric on the market. Your choice of dark or light oak floors and ebony-lined cabinetry frames a sophisticated aft-lounge with a trio of white leather sofas, while amidship there is a tempered glass dining table for up to eight guests. Towards the front there are two leather-clad piloting seats facing a helm station with a trio of Raymarine touchscreens, autopilot, a Penta joystick, Ritchie compasses, VHF radio, thruster controls, a Volvo engine feedback monitor, trim tab switches and a skipper’s door.
Three lower-deck en-suite staterooms provide sleeping quarters for up to six overnight guests, while an aft-located crew quarters features room for another two. Rooms on this level feature classic mullions, plush carpeting, hard-wood surrounds, recessed lighting and ample storage, with a starboard twin and a VIP double to the bow occupying the front portion of the hull. Amidship there is a full-beam owner’s stateroom with a king-sized bed, a work desk, a side sofa, multiple closets and a contemporary-styled bathroom with molded sinks, backlit mirrored panels and a waterfall shower. Also to be discovered on this level is an atrium-style galley with a transparent roof that features stone-effect work surfaces, Bosch appliances and a Franke stainless steel sink.
Though the initial iterations of this yacht were fitted with twin Volvo engines, models were soon upgraded to be equipped with four 435MHP Volvo Penta D6 IPS600 pod-drive diesel engines. The result of quadruple power propulsion on this yacht was top speeds of 33 knots and cruising speeds of 27 knots, something of a rarity for a yacht of this size. Remarkably efficient, this yacht will eat up only 63 US Gallons per hour when careering across the water at a high-speed cruising pace, with lower speeds gradually becoming more efficient as you decelerate.
