The Absolute Navetta 58 is 57-foot hybrid trawler yacht with a flybridge that was launched by the prestigious Italian yacht-building firm Absolute in 2015. This exciting model is a mid-sized yacht that combines a robust hull made for long-distance offshore cruising with the sort of European gracefulness, contemporary style and modern amenities more usually to be found on a super-yacht. Winner of the prize for “Best Trawler” at the 2015 London Boat Show, the Navetta 58 proves that ocean voyaging does not have to come at the cost of modern style or lavish comfort.

A flybridge of this caliber is something of a rarity aboard true trawlers, and this teak-lined space boasts a hard-top canopy with an electronic sunroof as well as space to the rear for sun loungers or tender storage. Across the center of the bridge sits a walk-in wet bar station with a grill, a fridge and an ice-chipper, as well as a U-shaped sofa in weather-proofed upholstery that surrounds a timber dining table. Up front there are two side sofas flanking a central upper helm that has been designed for serious elevated cruising.
A high bow hides a supremely stylish foredeck lounge comprising a modular leather sunpad for up to four guests and a Portuguese Bridge-style sofa with cup holders and hidden storage, both of which boast marina-facing views and unimpeded sunshine. At the stern there is a full-beam hydraulic swimming platform that can store a Williams jet tender and side steps up to a teak-lined cockpit with a transom sofa that connects to the main-deck aft-galley thanks to removable panes and a sliding glass door.
The kitchen boasts dark walnut cabinets, light oak floors and marble-effect counter-tops, and features appliances such as a Dometic fridge, a Bosch induction hob, an AEG oven and a stainless-steel sink. A frosted glass screen separates galley from salon, where cream fabric highlights, dark wood surfaces, steel railings, vast single-pane windows and a bespoke Onyx coffee table can be admired from a pair of cross-stitched leather sofas. Further forward there is a dining sofa with a table and a modern helm with Garmin EmpirBus multi-function display screens or Raymarine ClearCruise tech, thruster controls, a Penta joystick, a timber steering wheel, Volvo Interceptor Active trim tab functionality, backlit compasses and VHF radio.
Three en-suite cabins on the lower deck for up to six overnight guests are complemented by a fully equipped crew quarters for two accessed via a transom door. A starboard twin berth with a full-height storage locker sits abreast of a VIP double to the bow with mirrored panels, an island bed, single-pane hull glazing and a work desk. Amidship you will find a full-beam owner’s stateroom with a king-sized bed, ample cabinetry, a wall-mounted HDTV, pale oak surrounds, cinema-screen hull windows and a bathroom lined in veined marble with silver-finished ceramic sinks and an enclosed wet-room.
While many trawler yachts are restricted to lower overall speeds to promote efficiency, the Absolute Navetta 58 demonstrates that you can have both speed and stamina. A pair of 600MHP Volvo Penta D8 IPS800 inboard diesel engines offer top speeds of up to 27 knots, while at more traditional long-distance cruising speeds of 6 knots you can expect a range of over 1,100 nautical miles. A semi-displacement hull with a CE-rating of B proves both efficient and balanced out at sea, with a ruggedness that stands up to choppy offshore conditions.
