The Sanlorenzo SX112 is a 112-foot luxury superyacht with a flybridge that was launched by the iconic Italian yacht-building firm Sanlorenzo in 2021. A startling new model with an organic exterior form molded by Studio Zuccon, this vessel features one of the most radical, not to mention largest, beach clubs ever seen on a yacht of this class. The winner of numerous yachting awards including the Golden Neptune award at the 2021 World Superyacht Awards held in Monaco, the SX112 is an ultra-contemporary vessel that looks set to redefine at-sea living forever.
The most talked about aspect of this yacht is the sprawling aft-beach club located by the stern. Here, at the water level, you will encounter a vast living space with room for sunpads and a jacuzzi, a twin-set of fold-out bulwarks that turn into cocktail terraces to radically expand the amount of room on hand, as well as a tender davit cleverly built into the gunwale. This area connects to an enclosed water-level lounge surrounded by dramatic angled glazing that can be used as a gym, a bar or a cinema-room. The beach-club also links to a broad, teak-lined aft-cockpit via a set of stairs, and up here there is yet more al-fresco space to enjoy outdoor dining or lounging across plush, contemporary sofas.
As if that were not enough, there is extra outdoor space located to the rear of the flybridge. Rest on a set of sun-loungers and absorb the views to stern through an entirely glazed wrap-around rear wall, or head into the enclosed bridge salon, fitted with a louvred ceiling, for climate-controlled comfort. In here you will enjoy a dining table, a Paolo Lenti sofa and an upper helm station equipped with the very latest in navigational technology including a Raymarine Diamond package.
Cool and understated interiors are the work of designer Piero Lissoni, who has utilized granite surfaces, brushed fiberglass surrounds, dark marbled walls, Japanese tatami-effect floors and ceilings, bronzed mirrors, a geometric sense of space and a selection of pale Apli Xilo timbers to give the salon a hushed, elegant vibe. Add sculptural, bespoke staircases, acres of glazing, a green marble Porro table, Fritz Hansen daybeds, B&B Italia sofas and chairs and you have one of the most sophisticated lounges ever seen on a modern yacht. To aft you will relax for hours on comfortable seating options, while the forward lounge hosts a bespoke dining table or even a forward stateroom. Exit the main deck salon through a skipper’s door to starboard and you will find yourself on a foredeck with a full-beam, modular sunpad with room for up to five sunseekers.
In typical European fashion the galley sits on the lower deck and will be fitted with high-end appliances from suppliers like Miele, while there is also room on this level for up to eight overnight guests across four decadent and comfortable en-suite cabins. Rooms on this level feature plenty of leather, widescreen portholes, wood lattice screens and bathrooms lined in marble. Spacious crew quarters by the bow, meanwhile, come with their own living spaces and bathroom facilities.
Though this yacht impresses with ounces of style, it is also a rugged and efficient performer. Four Volvo Penta D13 IPS1350 pod-drive engines promote top speeds of around 23 knots and a cruising pace of 20 knots. At an economy cruise of 12 knots, you will enjoy a range of approximately 1500 nautical miles, while an expedition-style hull proves perfect for jaunts out to the Bahamas.
