The Sanlorenzo SL96 Asymmetric is a 95-foot luxury superyacht with a flybridge that was launched by the award-winning Italian yacht-building firm Sanlorenzo in 2020. Sharp modern curves, a sparkling white livery and masses of glazing give this yacht a look that is both classic and contemporary at first glance, yet this is also a vessel that hides a slew of revolutionary new features. By eliminating one side-deck and building the salon flush against the portside bulwark Sanlorenzo has opened up much more stylish living space for guests to enjoy. What’s more, collapsing gunwales provide better views, palatial interiors by Laura Sessa are distinctly avant-garde, and a Studio Zuccon external form accentuates best-in-class efficiency.
A sculptural hard-top hangs over the front half of the teak-lined bridge, where you will encounter a metal-framed dining table, a timber-clad wet-bar with a grill and an upper helm station. To the rear of the bridge and benefiting from an entirely glazed rear wall is space for a set of sunpads and sun-loungers. A forward companionway door leads into a sedate and enclosed pilothouse equipped with a modern dashboard featuring all of the latest navigational tech like thruster controls, CMC stabilizer switches and a Raymarine Diamond package.
A luxurious two-tier foredeck lounge offers guests the opportunity to sample elevated tanning on a raised modular sunpad with pop-up headrests for a trio of guests, while located up against the bow is a wide daybed and a Portuguese Bridge-style sofa. In the aft-cockpit there is transom seating and side-steps down to a bathing platform and a tender garage large enough to host a Williams jet-tender.
Floor-to-ceiling glazing to port and to aft illuminate a sophisticated interior with pale timber floorboards, stone accents, chrome fixtures, frescoed bulkheads, Paolo Lenti furnishings and lacquered panels. There’s space for a wet bar immediately upon entry, while the salon boasts room for sofas and a formal dining table. Further forward there is a family kitchen with a wine cooler, Miele appliances, a Vitrifrigo icemaker and veined marble or speckled granite work surfaces. At the very front of the main-deck there is an owner’s stateroom with full-beam dimensions, a king-sized bed, a work desk, walk-in closets and a plush bathroom lined in Bianco Arabescato marble with a wet-room shower.
Three more cabins on the lower deck include sleeping quarters for up to six more guests, while the master stateroom on this level is just as impressive, and as large, as the owner’s stateroom upstairs. The addition of a walk-in dressing room and a side-sofa complement vertical mullions, while LED strip-lighting contrasts against the grey oak, mirrored panels and chrome accents in here. A crew quarters sits up by the bow on this level and features extra storage space including a set of refrigerators for when you need to stock up on supplies.
Twin 2216HP MTU 16V 2000 diesel engines promote top speeds of at least 28 knots with a stable cruising speed of approximately 24 knots. At an economy cruise pace of 10 knots, meanwhile, you will enjoy an oceanic range of 1250 nautical miles, making this a superb option for lengthy island-hopping trips.
