The Sanlorenzo SL82 is an 81-foot luxury motor yacht with a flybridge that was produced by the award-winning Italian yacht-building firm Sanlorenzo between the years of 2000 and 2013. An elegant and classically European profile presents a timeless air with a fine bow entry, plenty of glazing and an optional gel-coating of your choice. Still a popular option on the used and charter markets, the SL82 features a rugged hull, still-powerful engines and restrained, serene interiors representing the very best of Italian design.
At the rear of the open air flybridge you will find space to store a jet-tender alongside a hydraulic davit. Further forward, and positioned underneath a pop-up Bimini roof, there is a U-shaped dining sofa in waterproof upholstery surrounding a fold-out table, a plush daybed for up to three, a wet-bar with a grill and an icemaker as well as the upper helm station. Down on the foredeck, meanwhile, there is yet more space to soak up the rays on a double-width sunpad, while in the shaded aft-cockpit, a space lined in authentic teak, there is a transom sofa and an outdoor, timber-topped dining table. Curving side steps back here lead to the bathing platform with extending passarelle, from where you can wet your toes or embark on more ambitious saltwater swims.
Sliding glass doors to aft and widescreen side glazing give the main deck salon a breezy feel, while warm American walnut or darker exotic hardwood floors exude a sophisticated feel. There is an L-shaped sofa in here with a matching lacquered coffee table and an armchair, while to port there is cabinetry and room for a home entertainment system. Ahead of this sits a formal dining table for up to eight guests, while an enclosed galley impresses with an American fridge-freezer tower, Miele appliances, granite work surfaces, a serving bar, a double stainless-steel sink and options like a wine chiller. Up front there is a private wheelhouse with a horizontal dashboard boasting flip-up Raymarine touchscreens with integrated instrumentation, bow and stern thruster controls, hydraulic trim tab switches, VHF radio, a pair of compasses and an oversized steering wheel.
Sedate lower deck cabins provide sleeping quarters for up to eight overnight guests, with rooms lined in your choice of high-gloss cherry, brown oak or similar authentic hardwoods. The owner’s stateroom boasts a king-sized bed, a leather headboard, mirrored wall panels, oval portholes, a walk-in closet, a work desk or side sofa and a stone-lined bathroom with an enclosed shower. The three remaining cabins on this level all feature en-suite bathrooms, with a pair of twin rooms amidship and a VIP queen room up front. A crew quarters for up to three members of staff has its own head facilities and sits nestled up by the bow.
A pair of 1700hp Caterpillar C32 ACERT shaft-drive diesel engines produce top speeds touching the 30-knot mark, while at a smooth cruising speed of 25 knots you can expect a range of over 400 nautical miles. The SL82’s GRP planing hull, meanwhile, proves adept at coastal cruising and can be fitted with a set of optional stabilizers.
