The Sanlorenzo SL120 Asymmetric is a 121-foot luxury superyacht with a flybridge that was launched by the iconic Italian yacht-building firm Sanlorenzo in 2021. The flagship of the brand’s new asymmetric fleet, this model boasts a sleek form, gigantic dimensions and living spaces that are the definition of at-sea luxury. A number of unique design interventions include fold-out terraces at the beach club, drop-down gunwales and a unique salon that sits flush against the starboard bulwark for additional space.
Up on the open-air flybridge there is a vast sunlounge to aft that faces a transparent glazed rear wall, and a sedate lounge that is separated from a formal dining table by a Boffi wet-bar station with a Kenyon grill, a breakfast bar with stools, an ice-chipper and chilled storage. An outdoor upper helm is complemented by an enclosed pilothouse accessed via a transom door with a comfortable helm seat, a pair of Raymarine touch-screen monitors, joystick handling, VHF radio and more.
A dramatic multi-tiered foredeck delivers stylish relaxation and sophisticated entertaining space for up to 16 guests, with a triple-width sunpad and a U-shaped sofa or a Jacuzzi occupying the raised level while, nestled up by the bow, you will discover a Portuguese Bridge sofa and a full-beam, casbah-style modular sunpad. The open area to stern is just as impressive, and features a shaded aft-cockpit with a transom sofa, timber-framed cushioned chairs, a set of coffee tables and steps down to a bathing platform. Open up the transom garage, take out your pair of jet-tenders and this space transforms into a water-level beach-club. The garage door doubles as a floating al-fresco terrace, while lounge space in the garage itself is expanded by two fold-out bulwarks that act as cocktail terraces.
Sedate and contemporary interiors crafted by Studio Zuccon feature a walnut sole, furnishings from Minotti, Roda and Baxter design houses, metallic and lacquered accents as well as floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors that have been paired with a drop-down gunwale to give guests unimpeded views out across the water. Finishes are subject to customization, but expect low-slung, L-shaped sofas, marble topped dining tables, bespoke armchairs, steel fixtures and frescoed bulkheads here. Further forward there is a starboard galley with Miele appliances, while at the front of the main deck sits a full-beam owner’s stateroom with a king-sized bed, sloped windows, direct access to the foredeck lounge, a walk-in closet, wood lattice walls, a lobby with a chaise-longue, a work desk and a bathroom clad in brown marble with a wet-room shower.
Four more double en-suite cabins on the lower deck present an elegant and restrained feel with oversized hull glazing, good head clearance, ample storage, mirrored panels and timber-lined closets. A vast crew quarters by the bow, meanwhile, offers its own lounge, dining and head facilities, as well as sleeping space for up to seven.
Choose between two powerful engine packages to propel your Sanlorenzo SL120A to maximum speeds of 27 knots and cruising speeds of 23 knots. A pair of MTU 16V 2000 M96L diesels come as standard though buyers can also request a twin-set of Caterpillar C32B ACERT engines as an option. At an economy cruise speed of 11 knots, you can expect a range of around 1,400 nautical miles, while the yacht’s planing GRP hull boasts a CE certification class A for oceanic voyages.
