The Sanlorenzo SL118 is a 119-foot luxury superyacht with a flybridge that was produced by the award-winning Italian yacht-building company Sanlorenzo between the years of 2014 and 2021. The flagship of the brand during the production run, the SL118 introduced innovative new features that are now Sanlorenzo signatures, like gull-wing doors, fold-out terraces built into the bulwark and a tender garage that doubles as an aft-beach club. Bearing a magnificent modern profile with cutaway gunwales, dynamic glazing and an assertive, streamlined form, as well as contemporary living spaces throughout, this is the ideal vessel for lavish, long-distance cruising.
The teak-lined flybridge is covered by a floating hard-top with opening louvres so that you can determine the exact amount of sun and shade you require. To the rear you will find a set of five sunloungers up against a glazed rear wall, while further forward a pair of Paola Lenti conversation sofas are placed alongside a stand-alone Boffi wet-bar station with marbled countertops, an outdoor grill and an ice-chipper. Across the front of the bridge, you will discover a formal dining table and seating at the upper helm station. A companionway door leads from here into the raised pilothouse, a sedate room with a map-desk, piloting seats and a dashboard with a Raymarine Diamond package, bow and stern thruster controls, fin stabilizer switches and more.
The shaded aft-cockpit boasts enough room for a sprawling Roda sofa or a bespoke dining table, while side-steps lead down to a bathing platform and a dual-use transom garage. When the garage door opens, revealing space for two large jet-tenders, it doubles as an extended beach-club with bar facilities.
Sliding glass doors and widescreen windows frame a sophisticated and elegant main deck salon featuring Minotti furnishings, pale oak surrounds, an authentic timber sole and stainless-steel accents. Relax on an L-shaped sofa or a pair of daybeds and enjoy family meals at a dining table with enough space for eight hungry guests. A wood-lattice bulkhead separates the salon from a galley with Gaggenau and Miele appliances, as well as a 34-bottle wine cellar, while at the front of the main deck there is a full-beam owner’s stateroom with angled glazing. This palatial suite features a king-sized bed, a walk-in dressing room with vanity desk, a sofa and a stone or brown marble lined bathroom with a wet-room shower. Two fold-out bulwarks, meanwhile, feature gull-wing doors and extending terraces to radically increase this room’s sense of space and connection to the outdoors.
There are four more en-suite staterooms on the lower deck, with each cabin boasting porthole or mullioned glazing, plenty of storage and a cool, restrained design scheme. A crew quarters with its own living facilities sits up by the bow and has space for up to five members of staff.
A pair of MTU 16V 2000 M96L diesel engines propel this vessel to top speeds of around 27 knots and a cruising speed of 23 knots. The SL118’s planing GRP hull boasts a CE certification of A for oceanic cruising, while at an economy cruise of 11.5 knots you can ride this beauty for over 1,250 nautical miles before requiring a refuel.
