The Sanlorenzo SD122 is a 122-foot luxury superyacht with a flybridge that was launched by the award-winning Italian yacht-building company Sanlorenzo in 2008. This was Sanlorenzo’s largest yacht upon launch and set new standards for style, comfort and amenities, while a sharp and streamlined profile still looks modern to this day. Boasting design input from the in-house Sanlorenzo team and renowned naval stylist Francesco Paszkowski, with a choice of gel-coated liveries, it is no surprise to discover that this vessel remains a best-seller on the used market to this day.
The exquisite, open-air and teak-lined flybridge features an entirely glazed wrap-around wall for enhanced views out to sea as you relax on a set of four sun-loungers to aft. Alternatively, take a break in the forward spa-pool jacuzzi that is surrounded by a circle of modular sunpads, or mix drinks at the walk-around wet-bar with grill and a U-Line ice-chipper.
One level down you will enjoy family meals at an outdoor dining table for eight, and lengthy relaxation on the upper deck transom sofa, large enough to accommodate ten. Sliding glass doors welcome you into the skylounge, where you will find a poker table, a set of sofas, a day-head, a pantry and the impressive wheelhouse. This sedate space features a map-desk, an adjustable piloting chair, Furuno display screens with integrated instrumentation, joystick handling, FLIR night-vision, bow and stern thruster controls, CMC stabilizer switches, a Navtex device and a high-speed compass.
On the main deck you will find a shaded aft-cockpit with a transom sofa and side steps leading down to a full-beam swimming platform and access to a huge transom garage capable of hosting a Williams jet-tender and a pair of jet-skis. At the front of the vessel, meanwhile, there is a split-level foredeck with a pair of raised sunpads and steps down to a cashbah-style daybed nestled up by the bow. Heading indoors via a set of curved sliding glass doors you will encounter an opulent salon with authentic mahogany floors, opaque oak surrounds, plenty of white lacquer, Crema marble surfaces, a pair of sofas from Minotti and a bespoke dining table. Further forward there is a port-side galley with Corian countertops, Boffi kitchen facilities and Miele appliances, while the front of this deck is occupied by a lavish, full-beam owner’s stateroom. These palatial quarters feature a private study, two walk-in closets, a desk and sofa, a king-sized bed, leather wall panels, widescreen windows and a capacious double bathroom lined in brushed marble with a pair of Fossena stone sinks, dark oak floors, a waterfall shower and a Turkish bath.
There are three more en-suite cabins on the lower deck for up to six overnight guests, with a VIP stateroom occupying a full-beam position amidship. A spacious crew quarters for up to six comes with its own dining and head facilities.
Equipped with a pair of 1625hp Caterpillar C32 Acert diesel engines, the SD122 can reach top speeds of around 17 knots with smooth cruising speeds of 14 knots. Settle into a sedate economy cruise of 11 knots and enjoy a globe-trotting range of over 3000 nautical miles.
