The Sanlorenzo 500EXP is a 154-foot expedition yacht that was launched by the iconic Italian yacht-building firm Sanlorenzo in 2021. Combining superyacht looks and amenities with a rugged explorer-style hull that is capable of oceanic cruising to faraway lands, the 500EXP looks set to redefine the level of luxury and style in this class forever.
Four levels of exquisite living begin at a partially open-air flybridge with an aft sunlounge and a forward, open-air jacuzzi spa-pool. Across the center of the bridge is an enclosed upper lounge with a formal dining table and an L-shaped sofa. One level down you will encounter an additional sun terrace, an upper salon with sultry and sophisticated furnishings, as well as an optional cabin and a climate-controlled pilothouse with modern navigational technology. The main deck, meanwhile, features a large salon with hardwood floors, expansive glazing, crystal accents, marble surfaces and an array of soft leathers and exotic fabrics. A trio of sofas are joined by a dining table for ten while a main-deck owner’s stateroom sits to forward. In here you will encounter a king-sized bed, a live-in dressing room, a work desk, a private lobby, a set of armchairs and a double bathroom linked by a wet-room shower. A fold-down balcony in here is perfect for whale-watchers and those who like to enjoy outdoor morning coffees.
Sidle up close to Alaskan glaciers or explore tropical coves from the jet-tender stored on the foredeck, or relax on the twin sunpads with backrests out here. Further space for adventurous toys sits on the hugely extended aft-deck. This space has been designed to accommodate a Castoldi jet-tender with a hydraulic davit, to be used as a helipad for a Eurocopter, or to host a submersible for deep-sea exploration to wrecks and reefs. Alternatively, equip this outdoor, teak-lined terrace with a glass-lined hanging swimming pool and a set of lavish sunpads to create one of the largest aft-decks on the market today. Steps to stern lead down to a full-beam swimming platform and a transom door that extends out to create a floating, sea-level beach-club with access to a lower-lounge and gym room, while a side door opens to allow this space to be used for extra tender storage.
Four en-suite double bedrooms provide comfortable sleeping space for up to eight overnight guests on the lower-deck, with rooms featuring semi-open bathrooms with stone counters and shower rooms, along with plenty of timber-lined storage. Across the front portion of the hull, you will discover a port-side galley with solid work surfaces, plentiful refrigeration and Miele appliances, while to starboard there is a dinette room that can host up to eight hungry guests or crew. A crew quarters with eight bunk berths is nestled up by the bow.
Choose between a pair of Caterpillar C32 Acert or twin MTU 8V 4000 M63 engines to power this vessel to top speeds of around 16 knots. A 60,000-liter fuel tank, meanwhile, helps globe-trotting pilots achieve a range of approximately 4,500 nautical miles at an economy cruise of 11 knots.
