The Sanlorenzo 40 Alloy is a 133-foot superyacht with a flybridge that was launched by the iconic Italian yacht-building brand Sanlorenzo in 2010. The firm’s first all-aluminum model, this vessel bears the striking and assertive looks of a stealth fighter jet, while a number of super-modern features like fold-out bulwarks, gull-wing doors and contemporary Paszkowski-designed living spaces define this as a next-generation yacht.
The teak-lined flybridge boasts an almost bow-to-stern length and a series of linked spaces with either an open-air or enclosed appeal. There is room up here for a spacious aft-lounge with bespoke sunpads and sofas that connect to a timber-lined jacuzzi spa-pool, while you will enjoy lavish meals at a 10-seater dining table and rustle up drinks at the walk-in wet-bar with an ice-chipper and a grill. At the front of the bridge there is an elevated sunpad, while amidships there is a sedate upper lounge and a pilothouse with gull-wing doors that look like they have been lifted straight from a vintage DeLorean. The pilothouse features dark wood paneling and a futuristic helm with NAIAD stabilizer switches, bow and stern thruster controls, a Nobeltec chart-plotter, MTU engine feedback, five Furuno touch-screen monitors, VHF radio and more.
Down on the main-deck you will discover an optional foredeck lounge with a chic, secluded air and a shaded aft-cockpit with a transom sofa. Back here there are side-steps down to a full-beam bathing platform with a swimming ladder and access to a huge transom garage capable of hosting a pair of jet-tenders and extra locker space for Seabobs or snorkeling equipment.
As you move through the main-deck interior you will encounter authentic and deluxe materials like Canaletto walnut surrounds, glossy anigre woodwork, onyx and travertine highlights, pearlescent lacquer and plenty of marbled surfaces. There is room in here for a set of leather sofas and a bespoke coffee table, while further forward you will find an astonishing, full-beam owner’s stateroom. Enjoy a walk-in dressing room bigger than most cabins, a private office, sofas, a king-sized bed, leather wall panels and a spa-style, marble-clad bathroom with a sauna, a wet-room shower and underfloor heating. As if that were not enough, the main-deck also comes with two fold-out cocktail balconies expanding the space in both the salon and stateroom.
Eight more overnight guests will enjoy spacious sleeping quarters on the lower-deck, with four double or twin en-suite cabins boasting plush carpeting, strip lighting, chunky portholes and masses of storage. The master stateroom on this level enjoys garden windows and private access to the mini-lounge on the foredeck. There is also a crew quarters for six members of staff, while a port-side galley on this level features metallic work surfaces, a pair of Frigomar fridge-freezer units, a Miele oven and six-zone hob and a dishwasher.
This model is powered by twin MTU 16V 2000 M94 diesel engines for top speeds of almost 26 knots and a consistent cruising speed of around 18 knots. Settle into an economy cruise of 13 knots and you can expect to ride this beauty for approximately 1200 nautical miles before needing to refuel. A semi-displacement planing hull crafted from aluminum boasts a double-height bow with a sharp entry has been built to ABS standards for confident, long-range cruising.
