The Riviera M430 Sports Cruiser is a 47-foot power boat produced by the premier Australian yacht brand Riviera Yachts between 2001 and 2008. Boasting super-sleek aerodynamic looks, a sporty appeal, an entirely open-air main deck and an ultra-fine entry, this is a vessel that looks like it has been designed for raw power and thrilling speeds. A set of powerful engines and a fine-tuned offshore hull deliver on this promise, while plush, hand-finished living spaces lined in deluxe materials present sun-drenched space for the entire family. An immensely popular model, Riviera sold 145 of these boats to discerning clients around the globe during the production run.
The vast foredeck plays host to a double-width modular sunpad lined in marine-grade upholstery where you can soak up the rays for hours on end, safely enclosed by grab and guard rails. Head back into the teak-lined cockpit to enjoy a more sociable space, with features back here including an L-shaped leather sofa and a transom sofa that surround a bespoke oval-shaped table with integrated cup-holders. A wet-bar station back here boasts chilled storage, an optional ice-chipper and a sink, while the sculptural power-tower overhead includes speakers and a fold-out Bimini roof for tunes and shelter. A transom gate leads out to a structural swim platform to stern that can be used to store inflatable dinghies, while at the front of the main deck there is a sporty helm station with a vintage vibe. Settle into a pair of comfortable helm seats and master a dashboard with a timber-lined, power-assisted steering wheel, bow thruster controls, a pair of Simrad EVO2 multifunction screens, autopilot, VHF radio, and chrome-lined analogue gauges. You will also find the controls for the vessel’s Fusion stereo system up here, meaning you can play at being captain and DJ at the same time.
The lower deck atrium impresses with live-aboard dimensions, a plush leather sofa hugging a teak-lined dining table and an open galley with a two-zone hob, a microwave oven, a steel sink, chilled storage and hand-crafted timber cabinet space. To aft there is a spacious cabin with a double bed, a single bed, a bedside cabinet and a full-height timber-lined locker, while an entirely private double stateroom to the bow features a queen-sized island bed, a skylight and two closets. The yacht’s main head is located to port and features a flush toilet, a sink and an enclosed shower stall, perfect for freshening up.
Powered by twin 425HP Caterpillar C18 diesel shaft-drives, a pair of Volvo Penta duo-props or dual Cummins Mercruiser petrol engines, you should expect top speeds to hit the 31-knot mark. Offshore cruising speeds settle in at around 22 knots, and at this smooth pace you will stay out on the water all weekend thanks to a fuel tank holding up to 325 gallons of juice for an island-hopping range of 270 nautical miles.
