The Riviera 63 Open Flybridge is a 64-foot convertible sportfishing yacht with an al-fresco bridge that was produced by iconic Australian yacht firm Riviera between 2013 and 2016. An assertive profile, swooping curved lines, a host of angling amenities and an extra-long cockpit demonstrate that this is a vessel ready for some serious fishing business. Yet wrap-around glazing, hand-crafted interiors and a plush, elegant style show that the 63 Open Flybridge is just as well-suited to families who wish to cruise in comfort.
Covered by a floating hard-top with weather-proof sheeting surrounding the sides, this raised bridge combines elevated piloting with superb lounging options. A wet-bar console with an outdoor grill, a sink and refrigeration are joined by a forward lounge with wrap-around seating and a dining table, while a pair of leather-lined helm seats face the dashboard. Navigational tech up here includes power-steering, a pair of Raymarine multifunction display screens, VHF radio, a CZone monitoring tablet, a docking joystick, a mounted compass, autopilot and thruster controls.
The huge fishing cockpit is possibly the largest in its class, and there is room back here for a custom fighting chair and capacious in-deck fish boxes. A transom live-well is joined to stern by a lift-gate that leads out to a hydraulic swim platform, while flush rod-holders, outriggers, mounted rocket launchers, a bait-prep station with an ice-chipper, a wash-down hose and storage lockers complete the fishing appeal back here. A raised mezzanine level lined in teak, meanwhile, hosts a sofa, a table and an optional wet-bar with a grill for those who like to use their cockpit to relax. On the foredeck you will find space to relax or cast a line, while this area can also be used for inflatable tender storage.
The main-deck salon benefits from 360-degrees mullioned glazing, as well as an oak sole, leather-lined furnishings and atmospheric mood lighting for an airy feel. An aft-galley with walk-in dimensions boasts dark timber cabinetry, Corian work surfaces, a multi-zone Miele hob, a convection oven, chilled storage and a sink with a mixer tap. Ahead of this is a sprawling U-shaped sofa hugging a timber-lined dining table, with another lengthy sofa sitting to starboard. A set of steps lead down to an opulent lower-deck with sleeping space for up to six overnight guests, with each cabin featuring dedicated en-suite facilities. A bunk berth to starboard is joined by a double stateroom by the bow with a sofa, a cedar-lined closet, skylights and hull glazing. A master stateroom to port includes a queen-sized bed and a vast hanging locker, while bathrooms on this level all feature enclosed shower stalls.
Powered by twin 1200HP Caterpillar C18 Acert turbo diesel engines, you should expect top speeds to hit the 38-knot mark. Cruising speeds clock in at around 34 knots, more than enough to tire out that prize tuna you are chasing, while a fuel tank holding 1731 gallons of diesel will keep you out on the water for days on end. A hand-laminated fiberglass hull with a 12.5-degree transom deadrise has been built with offshore cruising in mind, and delivers the perfect balance between agility, efficiency and safety.
