The Riviera 525, first launched by premier Australian yacht brand Riviera in 2018, is a classic 58-footer built for angling adventure, blue water cruising, and entertainment. This all-rounder yacht is a nautical composition of delicate lines from the elegant safety rails and the broad strokes of the hull - an indication of the thought and care that carries through the rest of the design. Offering the ultimate in fishability and live-aboard comfort, the 525 SUV has something for everyone.
Double transom door lead the way to the enormous aft cockpit, allowing ease of entry to the walkaround transom lounge. A bait prep station can be installed here for the fiercest of fish fighters, while water sports enthusiasts can opt for a hydraulic lifting platform for tender. Owners also have the option of a shorter lounge layout with a transom storage bin for diving equipment or a live baitwell.
Moving slightly forward and to port, a three-person sofa with an integrated table invites users to dine al fresco, or convert the space into a daybed for maximum lounging. To starboard, an impressive double barbecue setup (this is an Australian boat, after all) includes twin Kenyon burners, an icemaker, sink, solid surface countertop, and storage.
The salon, which can be fully opened up to the cockpit to create one large social zone, is refined and relaxed at the same time. Upon entering this space, the convivial, contemporary atmosphere is palpable thanks to a rich blend of natural light from the salon windows, fresh air from two overhead skylights, and bright wood cabinetry contrasted with pale surfaces and upholstery. An aft U-shaped galley sits to port, perfectly placed to serve both sides of the boat, while a large lounge and dining area sits forward, just behind the portside helm.
The galley is well equipped, with top-of-the-line electric two-zone cooktop, a microwave convection oven, range hood for ventilation, and a solid surface countertop with a dual use sink cover/cutting board, sink, and ample storage throughout. A large window in the center of the galley offers the chef views as stunning as those from the captain’s chair. One step up from the galley is the forward lounge, with a plush starboard sofa and a U-shaped dinette to port. The starboard sofa’s middle seat base slides out to convert to an ottoman, uniting the two seating areas for larger gatherings. The dinette table can be lowered when not in use.
The premium helmstation will delight the most discerning operators, with breathtaking visibility from the windshield and surrounding windows. The helm also features room for two 17-inch navigation screens, Volvo Penta Glass Cockpit navigation, CZone 3.5-inch display, VHF radio and other hi-tech equipment.
A central companionway leads below deck, where three outstanding staterooms are located. The owner’s suite sits to port, with a queen-size walkaround bed, under-bed drawers, bedside tables, four cedar-lined hanging lockers, reading lights, and a full-length mirror. This is a calm retreat from the rest of the boat, with natural light and fresh air from the hull window and opening porthole. For entertainment, a 28-inch LED television awaits. The en suite bathroom is as luxurious as any boutique hotel’s, with a vessel sink, large vanity mirror, and soft lighting. An overhead hatch brings in light and air, with a black-out screen for privacy.
The forward VIP suite enjoys a bed equal to that of the owner’s suite, with plenty of storage and walkaround room. Hull windows enhance the space with natural light. Guests who sleep here will benefit from en suite access to the day head. A smaller cabin, with two twin beds and a cedar-lined hanging locker, can be found to starboard.
The 525 SUV is powered by twin Volvo Penta IPS800 engines with 626HP apiece. Owners who want a little more oomph can opt for the twin 725HP Volvo Penta IPS950s.
