The Riviera 5000 Sport Yacht is a 54-foot sports cruiser produced between 2009 and 2016 by award-winning Australian yacht-building company Riviera Yachts. A hugely popular model with discerning clients around the world, 71 of these ultra-sporty, sleek and high-performance boats were sold across the production run. An elegant profile with sheer lines, classic curves and an assertive entry combines with deluxe living spaces across a single-level main-deck and a lower-deck sleeping quarters. A moderate-V monohull built from GRP and powerful pod-drive engines will eat up the waves across any coastal waters, delivering the sort of stamina and speed required for luxurious weekend island-hopping.
The foredeck welcomes you with a double-width sunpad with pop-up headrests and integrated cup-holders, so you can admire the views and sip on refreshments as you develop your summer tan. There’s more opportunity to soak up the rays in the teak-lined aft-cockpit, where a transom sofa and an L-shaped sofa in piped upholstery surround a timber dining table. If you prefer a bit of shelter then an extending sun-shade can be pulled out, while more active guests will go beyond the glazed transom door and down to the full-beam bathing platform for a salt-water swim. Back here there is also a capacious tender garage as well as an at-sea transom barbecue with an outdoor Miele grill. This grill is complemented by a wet bar in the cockpit with a sink, refrigeration and an ice-chipper to keep guests refreshed with chilled drinks.
There is plenty of natural light in the main-deck salon thanks to sliding glass doors to the rear, tear-drop glazing to the sides, a sloping front windscreen and an opening sunroof overhead. A blend of high-gloss cherry surrounds, plush leather furnishings, a timber sole, steel fixtures and brushed fiberglass here lends the space a sophisticated vibe. To port there is a sprawling U-shaped sofa for up to seven guests that hugs a dining table, while to starboard there is a walk-in galley with a two-zone hob, Corian countertops, a steel sink, under-counter refrigeration and a combination oven. Two adjustable piloting seats face a starboard helm station with an ergonomic feel, a Skyhook digital anchor, Zeus joystick handling, a timber-lined power-assisted steering wheel, hand-held VHF radio, a pair of Raymarine display screens and a SmartCraft monitoring system.
Expand your horizons by staying aboard this vessel overnight, and pick between two lower-deck layouts for up to seven overnight guests. A bunk berth to starboard can be replaced with a lower-lounge, while a double stateroom with skylights, timber-lined lockers and a queen-sized bed to bow comes as standard. There is another queen bed in the amidship stateroom, which can feature a side sofa or an extra single bed, two full-height cabinets, oval hull windows, and a refined en-suite with a waterfall shower. Another bathroom on this level is used as a day-head and also features hull-glazing, a porcelain sink and an enclosed shower stall.
Powered by twin 600HP Cummins QSC 8.3 diesel motors linked to next-generation Zeus pod-drives, you should expect top speeds of around 32 knots at full-throttle. Cruising speeds of approximately 26 knots still feel ultra-swift, while a fuel tank holding 607 gallons of juice will keep you out on the water for days on end.
