The Riviera 465 SUV is a 52-foot sports yacht that was launched by iconic Australian yacht-building firm Riviera in 2023. A blend of sharp angles, geometric glazing and soft curves combines with a sheer metallic livery for a look that is both sporty and modern. Designed with adventurers in mind, this vessel boasts a set of high-performance engines that work in tandem with a hand-laid fiberglass hull for supreme coastal voyaging, while living spaces deliver comfort, style and room to breathe. The product of a design collaboration between the in-house Riviera team and naval stylists 4D Designs, this sleek vessel sits slap bang in the middle of the SUV range, and is large enough for the whole family but nimble enough for tight marina settings.
The main deck is split between four distinct zones each with their own vibe. On the foredeck there is a double-width sunpad in marine-grade upholstery with backrests that is perfect for lazy afternoons spent soaking up the rays. To stern, meanwhile, there is a full-beam bathing platform that leads into a spacious aft-cockpit via a pair of transom doors. The theme is sporty back here, with self-draining in-sole storage lockers, rod holders and a flip-up transom sofa on display, while a pair of wet-bar units feature an outdoor grill, chilled storage, a sink and an ice-chipper. Just up from this is a second cockpit lined in teak and flanked by Isinglass side panels with a pair of plush sofas and a dining table with integrated cup-holders, while sliding glass doors lead into the main-deck salon.
Pale oak floorboards contrast against rich and glossy walnut surrounds for an elegant feel in here, while slide-open side windows are joined by an above-helm opening sunroof to keep this space fresh. There is a Corian-lined galley to aft with a multi-zone hob, an oven, a sink and under-counter fridge-freezer units, while ahead of this is a vast U-shaped dining sofa with a bespoke table. At the front of the salon there are two leather-lined helm seats facing a sporty dashboard with a hand-wrapped, power-assisted steering wheel, a CZone monitoring system, a Penta joystick, dual 16-inch Garmin touchscreens, hand-held VHF and a mounted compass.
A popular three-cabin and two-head layout across the lower-deck provides plenty of room for up to six overnight guests, with spaces on this level benefiting from climate control, mood lighting, fine carpeting and vast trapezoidal hull windows. A twin cabin to starboard features a cedar-lined locker and bedside table and shares bathroom facilities with a port-side double cabin with a queen-sized bed. Up by the bow there is a master stateroom with a queen-sized island bed, two timber-lined closets, multiple overhead skylights and an en-suite with a porcelain sink, mirrored cabinets and a walk-in shower unit.
Powered by a twin 600HP Volvo Penta IPS800 D8 pod-drive diesels, you will reach planing speeds from a standing start in as little as five seconds flat, while top speeds should touch the 33-knot mark. At a cruising speed of just over 24 knots you will enjoy a range of around 330 nautical miles, more than enough for extended weekend island-hopping trips.
