The Riviera 46 Sports Motor Yacht is a 52-foot luxury motor yacht with a flybridge that was launched by the high-end Australian yacht-building firm Riviera Yachts in 2023. Crafted in partnership with naval stylists 4D Designs, this vessel strikes a unique balance between a family cruiser with covered bridge and a sportfishing yacht ready to hunt down prize top-water tuna. A modern design boasts plenty of swooping curves, angled glazing, structural flares and that demure classic-contemporary look that has long been a Riviera signature. Amenities, meanwhile, have been blended together so artfully that guests can switch between comfortable lounging and active fishing in the blink of an eye.
A floating hard-top and optional waterproof Isinglass screens give the flybridge a sheltered appeal so that this raised space can be enjoyed whatever the weather. Instead of the usual forward helm Riviera have placed the controls to aft up here, replicating the classic sportfishing set-up that has proved so popular down the years. A pair of leather piloting seats face a dashboard with a Siren Marine monitoring system, power-assisted steering, twin 12-inch Garmin Glass Cockpit touch-screens, a Penta docking joystick, fishing electronics, a high-speed compass, Interceptor trim switches, optional Seakeeper 6 stabilizer controls and digital throttles. Ahead of the helm is a tasteful upper lounge with sublime views, a chaise-longue and a sofa that wraps around a dining table for outdoor meals.
A double sunpad out on the foredeck features pop-up headrests, allowing guests to watch anglers at the casting platform up by the bow. Dedicated fishing facilities will be found in the teak-lined aft cockpit, where a transom lift-gate leads out to a hydraulic, full-beam swim platform lined in non-slip material. A transom livewell, an in-sole fish-box, rod holders and a bait-prep station can be found back here, along with a dual wet-bar station with an ice-chipper, fridge-freezer compartments, a sink and an outdoor grill. A single step up leads to a second cockpit, this time centered around entertaining. In here two side sofas surround a timber dining table with integrated cupholders from where you will enjoy evening aperitifs. Head indoors to discover cabinet space and an aft-galley with marbled work surfaces, a multi-zone cooktop, a convection oven, a vast stainless steel bucket sink with mixer-tap and ample under-counter refrigeration. Ahead of this there are a pair of plush sofas, one of which hugs a dining table. Dynamic side-glazing, satin-brushed walnut surrounds, pale oak accents, steel fixtures and mood-lighting give this salon a breezy and open feel, especially when the sliding door to aft is flung wide open.
The lower-deck feels similarly spacious, and boasts room for up to six overnight guests across a three-cabin, two-head layout with plenty of head clearance and generous hull glazing. A master stateroom to the bow features a pair of skylights, two cedar-lined lockers and a queen-sized bed, while the aft staterooms feature twins or another queen bed, along with full-height closets and bedside cabinets. Both bathrooms on this level boast ceramic sinks, picture-frame windows and enclosed shower stalls for a deluxe appeal.
Fitted with a pair of Volvo Penta D11 IPS950 diesel engines, you can expect full-throttle speeds to edge over the 35-knot mark. At a cruising pace of 29 knots you will enjoy bluewater voyages of up to 300 nautical miles before topping up your fuel. The hand-laid GRP hull offers a smooth and dry ride, while sound and vibration mitigation throughout enhances your enjoyment as you steer this vessel to fish-rich catching grounds.
