The Riviera 4400 Sport Yacht is a 49-foot sports cruiser produced by the iconic Australian boat-building firm Riviera Yachts between 2008 and 2019. Boasting chic curves, laid-back living spaces with an elegant vibe and plenty of raw speed, this yacht has managed to maintain its appeal on the used market up to the present day. This vessel was not only a smash hit with discerning buyers world over, with 61 models launched in the first two years of its production run, but it was hailed by industry critics, too. Thanks to its sleek looks, peerless seaworthiness and sporty appeal, the 4400 Sport Yacht bagged a slew of enthusiastic reviews and the prize for “Powerboat of the Year” at the Australian Marine Awards.
Head out onto the foredeck to soak up the summer rays on a double-width sunpad with pop-up backrests, or work your way back to a full-beam hydraulic bathing platform to stern to enjoy salt-swimmer swimming. You will also find a vast lazarette back here, while immediately up from the platform is a teak-lined cockpit with a long transom sofa in piped upholstery, a dining table with integrated cup-holders, and a wet-bar with chilled storage, an optional ice-chipper, a sink and an outdoor grill.
Once inside you will enjoy expansive views out of tear-drop glazing to the sides, a sloping windscreen at the front and sliding glass doors to the rear, while an overhead sunroof opens at the touch of a button to keep the atmosphere in here breezy. A teak-and-holly sole plays host to a leather-lined U-shaped sofa that surrounds an adjustable high-gloss timber table, while to starboard there is an open galley with a two-zone hob, under-counter refrigeration, an oven and cabinets in warm cherrywood.
Two helm chairs face the modern helm station, and along with a timber-lined and power-assisted steering wheel on the dashboard you will also discover Bennett trim-tab switches, a Penta docking joystick, a mounted compass, VHF radio and a single Raymarine E120 display screen with autopilot and a chartplotter.
Up to five overnight guests will enjoy a sound evening of sleep on the lower-deck, where two staterooms and two en-suite bathrooms impress with plush carpeting, timber surrounds, hull glazing and plenty of room to breathe. To aft there is a cabin with a single bed and a double bed, along with bedside cabinets and timber-lined lockers, while to the bow there is a cabin with a queen-sized bed, a full-height locker and skylights. Bathrooms on this level boast flush toilets, granite-effect countertops, tempered glass sinks, and enclosed shower stalls.
Powered by twin 435HP Volvo Penta IPS600 pod-drive diesels, you should expect top speeds in excess of 34 knots at full-throttle and a cruising speed of around 29 knots. At this lower speed you will enjoy a cruising range of over 300 nautical miles, while a moderate-V monohull crafted from vacuum-bagged GRP will stand up to choppy coastal swells as you enjoy weekend island-hopping voyages.
