The Ocean Alexander 80 Motoryacht is a superb 80-foot flybridge motoryacht ideal for long-range cruising first launched in 2006 by renowned Taiwan-based yacht firm Ocean Alexander at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. The brand collaborated with legendary shipwright and naval architect Ed Monk Jr. on the hull, making the most of the yacht’s overall length. Opulent interiors redefine onboard livability, while stunning outdoor spaces let you reach the outer limits of entertainment. Though production stopped in 2010, this unique model is a rare find that remains popular on the used and charter markets.
Elegant lines naturally direct the gaze to the exceptional cockpit area, protected by the transom with teak cap rails, flush with an aft swim platform with staple rails for extra safety. This versatile spot is perfect for sportfishing, diving, or simply partying – a long countertop can be used to prep bait, mix up cocktails, or grill up your catch. Nearby rod holders invite you to battle gamefish, while curved stairs on either side lead up to the aft lounge. Here, a rounded settee faces a large six-seater dining table, perfect for al fresco meals.
The welcoming salon features a sofa curved around a coffee table, the perfect place to converse and mingle. Japanese cherrywood panels and cabinetry impart a rich, inviting feel with an aristocratic flair. Down a portside hallway, you’ll find the expansive forward pilothouse and galley. A starboard L-shaped galley is outfitted to the highest standard, with a large JennAir French door refrigerator, Gaggenau cooktop and electric oven, double Franke sinks, a microwave/convection oven, and even a trash compactor. To port and forward is a grand U-shaped sofa around a glossy table. The helm sits beneath the oversized dash and is equipped with a single Stidd helm chair, a sunken dashboard with a Garmin navigation system, Octoplex electric system, Simrad autopilot, wood inlaid steering wheel, and other cutting-edge equipment. Open, hardtop, and skylounge configurations are available.
The 80 MY continues to impress up on the flybridge, which is sure to be the center of many adventures. The aft deck has enough space for a dinghy and an optional Jacuzzi, with a portside grill will maintain the celebrations. A forward dining area with curved seating faces the two-seater upper helm, which is nearly identical to its main-deck counterpart.
The lower deck features three well-appointed cabins accessed via a starboard companionway in the wheelhouse. Amidships is a full beam owner’s suite with a central king-sized bed. Enjoy a nightcap on the settee beneath the portside hull windows or prepare for a night on the flybridge at the starboard vanity table. The en suite features an oversized shower, toilet, two sinks, and spacious countertops. A walk-in closet provides plenty of space for your wardrobe, while a TV faces the bed for lazy days and nights.
The VIP suite is located at the bow, with an island queen bed, hanging locker, and an en suite bathroom. To port, the third cabin features twin bunks with a desk and access to a nearby day head. The crew quarters is accessed from a hatch in the cockpit and features a small galley, head with shower cubicle, a cabin with two bunks, and a washer/dryer.
Powered by twin Caterpillar 1,000hp diesel engines with an option to upgrade to 1,500hp MTUs. Whichever engine you choose, two enormous fuel tanks with a combined 2,350-gallon capacity offer the freedom to pursue epic offshore voyages.
