The Ocean Alexander 78 is a 79-foot luxury motoryacht launched by celebrated Taiwan-based shipyard between 2015 and 2017. With sturdy but graceful lines, opulent interiors, and stunning outdoor entertainment spaces, it’s no wonder the 78 remains a popular choice on the used and charter markets. This yacht is semi-custom, with a choice of a traditional open flybridge or a skylounge with more enclosed space.
Curved stairs on either side of swim platform lead to the aft cockpit, which features a long sofa served by a substantial hi-lo dining table. A wet bar with two bar seats can be found to starboard, perfect for entertaining. Sliding glass doors lead to the well-appointed salon where, on entry, you are greeted by a starboard L-shaped sofa with coffee table. Frameless tinted glass windows enhance stunning sea views from your Ocean Alexander Yacht and protect you and your guests from the harsher qualities of the sun.
A portside hallway with an adjacent day head leads to the galley and open dining area that seats up to eight. The galley features full-sized appliances such as a French-door refrigerator, overhead microwave, convection oven, a further electric oven, and an electric cooktop. Make your voyage even easier with a garbage disposal and trash compactor.
The wraparound galley features a choice of marble or granite countertops with wood soles and full-sized appliances, including a French-door refrigerator, overhead microwave, convection oven, an electric oven, an electric cooktop, and even a garbage disposal and trash compactor. To port is a dining area with a table that seats up to six. A forward helm is equipped with thrusters, stabilizers, hydraulic windlass, hydraulic steering system, and other high-spec instrumentation. A weather-tight side door leads onto the fore and aft decks. Two further layout options for this space are also available: a lower helm with a country kitchen and a settee, or a larger country kitchen and a C-shaped sofa situated beneath the windows that replace the lower helm.
Whether you choose the flybridge or skylounge versions, the upper deck is sure to be the center of the party. Both versions feature an aft deck with space for tender and a launching crane. The open flybridge has a long wet bar to port with bar seating for six. To starboard, you’ll find a plush sofa wrapped around a long table. The forward central helm station features a second seat for a companion. The skylounge features an enclosed pilothouse with a three-seater helm and five multifunction displays, a day head, and a U-shaped sofa with dining table.
Below deck, there are three distinguished staterooms accessed via a portside companionway in the pilothouse. The full-beam owner’s suite features his-and-hers en suite bathrooms with dual access to an enormous walk-in shower. Forward and to port is a guest cabin with two single beds, perfect for children or extra guests, with a day head just a few steps away. The VIP suite features a central queen bed with an en suite bathroom with walk-in shower.
The 78 is powered by a pair of standard 1600 MTU 10V 2000 diesel engines. Twin 32kW Kohler generators provide secondary power.
