The Ocean Alexander 48 Classico Sedan is a sporty 48.6-foot sedan yacht produced by Taiwanese shipyard Ocean Alexander into the early 2000s. Small but perfectly formed, this model impresses with its spacious living and lounging areas. A well-tested hull designed by longtime OA collaborator Ed Monk Jr. makes this a true brand classic.
A generous teak cockpit is the perfect place to set up an intimate dining area, sheltered by the flybridge above all the way to the transom. Wide side-decks on either side allow safe and easy movement around the boat.
A sliding glass door provides entry to the well-appointed salon, which greets guests with a portside L-shaped sofa built into bright wood cabinetry. Wrapped around a large table, this is the perfect spot for a gourmet meal with views out onto the water. Windows all around suffuse this space with light. Just forward is a cheerful open galley separated from the main salon by a raised bar.
The galley is equipped with everything you need to satisfy your guests: a two-basin sink, three-burner cooktop, microwave/convection oven, and a stainless-steel fridge-freezer. Black granite countertops give this a sleek, contemporary feel that contrasts nicely with the light furnishings and rich teak and holly wood accents throughout the yacht.
The lower helm is just forward and to starboard, with a robust Raymarine package with a multifunction screen, traditional wood steering wheel, bow and stern thruster joystick controls, and excellent visibility from the windshield and a starboard side-door.
Accommodation is found a few steps down from the helm. The owner’s suite is found at the bow, with a queen island bed surrounded by built-in storage, including a cedar-lined hanging locker. This room enjoys the privacy of an en suite bathroom with a separate shower. The guest stateroom sits to port, with single bunks for two people and separate access to the starboard day head. A cedar-lined hanging locker, drawers, and underbed storage supply a safe place for your guest’s wardrobes.
The flybridge is fully covered by a large bimini top. The centerline helm is near-identical to the lower helm, with A plush L-shaped sofa to starboard of the helm and a U-shaped seating area on the aft deck supply plenty of space for lounging, while a wet bar with a sink, fridge, icemaker, and storage is sure to get the party started.
The 48 Classico Sedan is powered by twin Yanmar diesel engines that may reach top speeds of 17-20 knots and a comfortable cruise speed of 10-16 knots.
