The Ocean Alexander 46 Veloce is a 50-foot sports cruiser yacht with a flybridge that was launched by the award-winning Taiwanese yacht-building firm Ocean Alexander back in 2007. A striking, curvaceous profile with tear-drop glazing, a low-slung bridge, a super-fine bow and a sloping foredeck catch the eye from a distance, while those lucky enough to embark aboard this sleek vessel will be wowed by its lavish, hand-finished interiors. Though no longer available to purchase as new, this yacht continues to cast a spell over discerning clients on the used and charter markets.
A fully al-fresco flybridge with a radar arch positioned far aft welcomes guests with a pair of L-shaped sofas with a booth-style layout and a centrally positioned upper helm station with a Stidd helm chair. A wrap-around Venturi-style windscreen protects those up here from spray, while space to the rear with a wet-bar station and a grill can be used for seating. On the main-deck, meanwhile, there is a sheltered and teak-lined aft-cockpit with a transom sofa and room for a breakfast table, while curving side steps lead down to a fixed bathing platform with a hydraulic tender crane.
Sakura cherrywood paneling with burled accents, plush carpeting, rounded cabinetry and deluxe leather furnishings await as you enter into the main-deck salon through sliding glass doors. There is a C-shaped sofa to port that surrounds a glossy, bespoke timber coffee table, while to starboard there are a range of storage compartments. Up front there is a walk-in galley with Silestone countertops, an Isotherm fridge-freezer tower, a double Franke sink, a U-Line ice-chipper, a GE combination microwave and a 3-zone Kenyon hob. Sitting directly across from this there is a main-deck helm boasting a Raymarine or Garmin display panel, engine feedback, ZF thruster controls, ICOM VHF radio, Simrad autopilot, a Ritchie compass and more.
A two-cabin and two-head layout for up to four overnight guests across the lower-deck boasts climate-controlled air conditioning, exotic timber surfaces and porthole windows. There is a twin cabin amidship with cushioned wall panels and an HDTV, while the owner’s stateroom to the bow features a double island bed, hidden storage, a pair of cedar-lined closets and a bathroom lined in dark granite with a waterfall shower cubicle and a steel sink.
A pair of Caterpillar 597MHP C9-ACERT diesels or twin 480MHP Yanmar inboard engines provide top speeds of approximately 20 knots with cruising speeds clocking in at around 16 knots.
