The Ocean Alexander 35 Revolution is a 116-foot superyacht with a flybridge that was launched by the iconic Taiwanese yacht-building firm Ocean Alexander in 2021. Four exquisite decks of living space crafted by naval designer Evan K. Marshall meet a rugged hull with a double-height bow from the studio of Arrabito Naval Architects to produce a vessel that combines the best characteristics of an ocean-going expedition yacht with the style and comfort of an Upper East Side Penthouse. With wrap-around glazing, cutaway gunwales, sun-kissed al fresco lounges and a high-class finish throughout it should come as no surprise to find that this uncompromisingly modern vessel won the much-coveted ‘NBC Sports Best of Show’ award at the 2021 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
A compact skybridge with a hard-top canopy occupies the uppermost level of this yacht’s four decks, providing the sort of views you might expect from the pinnacle of a lighthouse. A pair of forward sofas and a rear sunpad lounge with a jacuzzi spa-pool sit on a teak-lined deck that also finds room for a walk-in wet-bar with stone surfaces and a barbecue grill. A huge bridge-deck sits just one tier down from this, with an impressive sprawling aft-lounge with sofas and a circular dining table as well as a Portuguese bridge and sunpad out front. An elegant enclosed upper lounge, meanwhile, comes lined in pale oak and marble with an array of seating and entertaining options and is located amidship. Up front on this level you will find the raised pilothouse, where a carbon-fiber dashboard, a trio of Garmin touchscreens, thruster controls and Furuno VHF await, along with a map desk and leather Stidd helm chairs.
For shelter from the midday sun guests will enjoy lazing for hours on the sheltered aft-cockpit, where you will find a C-shaped sofa, a wet bar and a transom daybed. Side steps back here lead down to a fully hydraulic swimming platform with a transom door that folds down to reveal a water-level beach club with seating, a wet bar and an extending bathing deck, as well as a hidden transom space with a mini-gym and a timber-lined sauna room.
A main-deck salon in pale oak with marble surfaces, aluminum accents and cinema-screen windows boast an L-shaped sofa and a set of armchairs, as well as room for a ten-seater dining table that sits between panoramic floor-to-ceiling side doors. Ahead of this there is an enclosed Euro-style galley with stone counter-tops, Wolf ovens, Sub-Zero fridges and a stainless-steel sink, while to the front of the main deck there is a lavish owner’s stateroom. This full-beam suite benefits from a king-sized island bed, deluxe carpeting, a stand-alone work desk, a pair of armchairs, bedside cabinets, two walk-in closets and a bathroom with marble surfaces, a bathing tub, a skylight, a pair of shower cubicles and two sinks.
Four lower-deck en-suite cabins for up to eight overnight guests sit across the lower-deck, each with plenty of storage, generous hull glazing, authentic timber surfaces and cushioned wall paneling. To the front of the lower deck there is also a crew quarters for up to six members of staff with its own galley and additional storage.
This yacht’s double-height rounded bow eats through choppy waves as if they were not there, while a robust semi-displacement hull has been designed for ocean-going voyages. A pair of 1900MHP MAN V-12 diesels or twin 2600MHP MTU engines prompt top speeds of over 23 knots, while at cruising speeds of 15 knots you can expect a range of around 800 nautical miles.
