The Ocean Alexander 28 Revolution is a palatial 90.2-foot expedition yacht first launched by the Taiwan-based shipyard in 2018. Designed by Arrabito Naval Architects and Ocean Alexander’s engineering team, the 28R has a vertical bow, providing enormous volume and liveability, enhanced by chic Evan K. Marshall-designed interiors. Superb layouts, stunning views, and a well-tested hull make this ideal for open sea expeditions.
An enormous swim platform capable of storing and launching tender features a teak beach club that looks out onto the water. Sliding glass doors ensure unimpeded views and contact with the elements even when closed. Inside is a full wet bar with a stainless-steel sink and fridge, a wall-mounted television, and a sizeable L-shaped sofa with a coffee table. Dark wood panels with a glass storage cabinet provide a warm, sophisticated atmosphere. Out on the foredeck, you’ll find a U-shaped sofa around a low coffee table, perfect for wine and cheese.
Two staircases on either side of the beach club lead to the full-width main deck which features a covered cockpit with easy access to the side decks. A wide sofa faces two folding dining tables seating eight or more with additional seating. A two-paneled sliding glass door provides entry to the salon and can be fully opened onto the cockpit. The salon features an aft lounge area with a settee and L-shaped sofa, the perfect place to receive your guests. Forward, a long dining table seats ten guests with a nearby island counter for serving drinks of buffet-style meals.
The forward galley is equipped with a French-door refrigerator with a large drawer freezer capable of storing provisions for longer journeys. The galley also features an L-shaped counter fitted with a stainless-steel double basin sink, dishwasher, oven, four-burner cooktop, integrated microwave, and cabinet storage that snakes from port to starboard. A dinette is nestled into a corner beneath a side window next to a large storage cabinet for cutlery and dinnerware.
A forward hallway in the salon leads to the sumptuous main-deck owner’s suite. A king-sized bed is flanked by two-toned wood end tables and adjustable reading lights. Frosted mirrors on either side add interest, while dark and light wood wall accents providing stylish contrast. Full-height windows on either side provide unbelievable painterly views of the sea and streams of natural light. A desk faces the starboard window while two armchairs gather around a round coffee table in front of the portside window. The large en suite is an oasis, with a glass walk-in shower, marble accents, and light-toned woods throughout. A separate toilet and substantial sink with storage sits beneath a large mirrored cabinet.
Sliding glass doors on either side of the salon open onto the side decks and companionways that lead up to flybridge. A forward staircase in the hallway provides additional access to this spot. There are two versions of this deck available: an NGP version and a skylounge version. Both offer the ultimate entertainment spots, with two large sofas with dining tables or an optional large sunpad and jacuzzi. On the NGP, a U-shaped dining area and a wet bar with seating are sheltered by the hardtop. The forward pilothouse features a two-seater helm with four display panels and side doors. The skylounge version of the 28R features a fully enclosed lounge and helm area with sliding glass doors lead out to the open aft deck, which is almost identical to the NGP version.
A second staircase in the hallway leads to the below deck accommodation. At the bow is an incredible VIP stateroom, which features a king-sized bed, flatscreen TV, an en suite bathroom, underbed storage, custom cabinetry, and a hanging locker. At the aft end of the below deck foyer are two further guest cabins with two single beds with bright side windows. Both feature storage hanging lockers and an en suite bathroom with walk-in shower.
Crew quarters are located behind the engine room and are accessed via a discreet door in the beach club or a companionway on the aft deck. It features a small galley, day head, two-bunk cabin, and a double captain’s cabin.
The 28R is powered by twin 1900hp MAN V12 engines that reach top speeds upwards of 22 knots.
