The Ocean Alexander 27 Explorer is an 88.9-foot tri-deck motoryacht that was first introduced by the Taiwan-based shipyard at the 2020 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, where it was one of seven ‘Best in Show’ finalists. Designed in collaboration with UK naval architect Evan K. Marshall, the 27E is floating mansion ideal for expeditions, with a cruising range of up to 2,1000 nautical miles.
A mammoth swim platform holds a tender and personal watercraft with room to spare: when extended, this area expands to 225 square feet on the Ocean Alexander yacht. Tender can be launched via a portside launching crane or lowered directly into the water on the platform. A sunshade provides shade when needed, while a central platform submerges to create a teak beach, allowing you and your guests to bathe in the sea.
Curving stairs on either side of the swim platform lead up to the mezzanine-style cockpit lounge, ideal for al fresco cocktails. A glass partition turns this space into a terrace overlooking the sunbathers on the swim platform below. A sunshade can be extended to shelter this area when desired. Wide side decks with stainless-steel railings lead to the foredeck, which features a long C-shaped sofa with a dining table facing an enormous forward sunpad.
Electronic sliding glass doors lead to an expansive salon surrounded by big windows that fill the area with natural light, offering stunning views of the sea. A wet bar with a sink, refrigerator and storage is just forward. This large, open space features expansive portside seating, a coffee table, and exquisite cabinetry with lacquered wood, stone surfaces, and stainless-steel trim for a contemporary art deco feel. This style of cabinetry extends to the forward formal dining room with a long wet bar equipped with a hidden stainless-steel sink, stemware cabinet, wine chiller, and two additional storage spaces.
At the end of the salon, a concealed door leads to the forward galley, which features big side windows all around. A J-shaped kitchen to starboard with polished stone countertops features a stainless-steel sink, dishwasher, oven, microwave, range hood, four-burner cooktop, trash compacter, and garbage disposal. A standing fridge-freezer is nearby, adjacent to a spacious pantry. An island counter provides further workspace. To starboard is an L-shaped sofa with a folding dining table, nestled in the corner of two angled windows looking out onto the water.
Up a staircase on the main aft deck, you’ll find an exquisite open-air gathering area that is almost certain to be the center of every celebration. The bridge deck features a stunning wraparound sofa that extends from starboard to port. Long lounge seating extends starboard, then curves around a dining table. A nearby wet bar and custom grill will feed and water your guests, while a four-person jacuzzi is perfect for winding down.
The forward skylounge and three-seat helmstation are enclosed in glazing with panoramic views and plenty of natural light. Another wet bar, identical to the one on the main deck, sits to port opposite a lounge seating area. The helmstation, situated to starboard, is equipped with an adjustable panel with three displays. VHF radios, engine monitoring screens, compass, thrusters, joysticks and stabilizer controls are always close at hand. Bolsters, armrests, and footrests allow you and your companions to drive in comfort.
Below deck, you’ll find four luxurious cabins with filled with natural light and impeccable finishes. The amidships full-beam owner’s suite is naturally the most lavish, with his-and-hers en suite bathrooms and a central king bed. Beneath the portside window is a chic vanity table with two integrated drawers, with a plush sofa beneath the starboard window. Opening portholes facilitate airflow and contact with the elements, while two walk-in closets provide plenty of space for your long-haul luggage.
Two guest cabins, each with two single beds and en suite bathrooms, are situated to port and starboard of the lower deck hallway. Horizontal windows and high platform beds are a thoughtful touch that allow eye-level views when guests at rest. At the bow is the VIP suite with a private en suite and a queen bed. A portside loveseat is situated beneath a large window, while a wall-mounted television faces the bed. Quarters for up to four crew are also available, with access from the port side-deck.
