The Horizon Vision 74 is a 76-foot luxury flybridge yacht that was launched by the iconic Taiwan-based yacht-building firm Horizon in 2009. A demure gel-coating, strong horizontal lines, structural flares, stepped gunwales and wrap-around glazing make this one of Horizon’s most stylish yachts, while sedate interiors present a comfortable and sophisticated vibe. Designed for ambitious coastal cruising with a Greg Marshall-designed fiberglass hull, this vessel was also one of the first Horizon models to boast solar panels on the roof to help power the yacht’s electronics for a greener approach to life at sea.
The vast flybridge is split between an aft-sun terrace and an enclosed pilot-house so that you can enjoy sun-kissed afternoons or climate-controlled relaxation up here. On the rear portion there is room for a set of sun-loungers, while a Steelhead hydraulic davit can be utilized for tender storage and lifting. In the pilothouse there is a curved sofa with a circular conversation sofa, bar facilities, a c-shaped companion sofa and an upper helm with a Stidd helm seat. This modern dashboard features Hynautic power-steering, bow-thruster controls, TRAC stabilizer switches, digital throttles, Furuno NavNet MFD screens, a high-speed compass, VHF radio and more.
Down on the foredeck there is space for a double-width elevated sunpad lined by steel grab-rails as well as a forward love-seat with cup-holders for secluded afternoon refreshments. Head back to the teak-lined aft-cockpit to discover a shaded retreat with a large transom sofa and an outdoor dining table, as well as side-steps down to an oversized bathing platform that can be equipped with fishing goodies like a livewell. There’s also a stern-side door back here that leads into a rear crew quarters for up to three members of staff with its own facilities.
High-gloss or satin-finished cherrywood surrounds with teak accents, hand-crafted cabinetry, crème-toned carpeting, adjustable mood lighting and widescreen glazing give the main-deck salon a classic and elegant vibe. There’s a pair of curving leather sofas, a love-seat and a set of bespoke coffee tables in here, while further forward there’s a live-aboard country kitchen with a teak-and-holly sole, granite work surfaces and all the high-end appliances required to whip up gourmet meals. Ahead of the galley there is room for a U-shaped sofa that wraps around a dining table, with views out of sloped forward mullions as you eat.
Down on the lower-deck there is spacious accommodation for up to six overnight guests across a trio of tastefully appointed cabins. A twin cabin to starboard comes with porthole glazing, a full-height locker and plush hardwood surrounds, and shares a generous bathroom with a VIP double stateroom located by the bow. Amidship there is a full-beam cabin with a queen-sized bed, a side-sofa, a work-desk or vanity station, dark timber surfaces, vertical porthole glazing, a walk-in closet and a large double bathroom lined in granite with a wet-room shower.
A pair of 1000HP Caterpillar C18 ACERT inboards should deliver top speeds hitting the 20 knot mark, while at an 11 knot cruising speed you will enjoy piloting this outstanding watercraft for up to 625 nautical miles thanks to a fuel tank holding 2096 gallons of diesel. Upgrade to a pair of 1550HP Caterpillar or MAN engines, meanwhile, to boost your full-throttle speeds to 26 knots.
