The Horizon V80 is an 82-foot luxury motoryacht with a flybridge launched by the prestigious Taiwanese yacht-building company Horizon in 2014. The aesthetics are simple but refined, with staggered bulwarks, bridge-flares, wraparound tinted glazing and a sheer white livery endow this yacht with a modern, minimalist and streamlined appeal. A choice between an enclosed or open bridge caters to buyer preference: whether they prefer elemental vistas or something a bit more climate controlled, everyone will enjoy deluxe living spaces across three decks which can easily accommodate the whole family.
Both enclosed and open bridges boast sun-terraces to aft that can be fitted with a davit for tender storage and lifting. On the former option you can also expect a walk-in bar out here, while a set of sliding glass doors usher you into a sophisticated upper-lounge with a U-shaped sofa and an all-weather helm with two seats. The open bridge, meanwhile, promises sun-lounge space, a walk-in bar with stools, a vast dining sofa and al-fresco piloting.
Down on the foredeck there is a U-shaped sofa with a coffee table and a forward sunpad with cup-holders for a lucky pair of sun-seekers. Want something a little more shaded? Head to the teak-lined aft-deck where a curved transom sofa, a dining table and up to six seats await. Alternatively you can configure this space as a fishing cockpit complete with tackle storage, rod-holders and a lighted baitwell. A pair of side steps lead down to a split-level swim deck with a hydraulic platform and garage access into a crew quarters or water-level bar area.
Pass through a set of metal-framed sliding glass doors to enter a broad main-deck salon surrounded by widescreen glazing with surfaces in high-gloss or satin-finished exotic timbers. There’s space in here for a pair of upholstered sofas, two armchairs and a tempered-glass coffee table, while further forward you will encounter a semi-open galley kitchen and a formal dining table for up to eight hungry guests. At the front of this level, and benefitting from a pair of helm seats and superb visibility, there is a helm station with a trio of MFD touch-screens, hydraulic stern thruster controls, ABT stabilizer switches, power-steering, joystick docking, a high-speed compass, VHF radio and much more.
On the lower-deck there is overnight space for up to eight guests across four staterooms with generous hull glazing and dark timber surrounds. A pair of amidship twins share a bathroom, while a VIP double cabin up front features an en-suite and a queen bed. The full-beam owner’s stateroom benefits from a king-sized bed, a side-sofa, a work-desk, a walk-in closet and a spacious granite-lined bathroom with a wet-room shower and couple’s sinks.
Powered by a pair of 1150HP Caterpillar C18 ACERT engines as standard, you can also upgrade to a beefier twin-set of 1622HP Caterpillar C32 ACERTs for faster top speeds. With the latter option you can expect maximum speeds in excess of 25 knots, while at a 14 knot cruising pace you’ll have enough in the 1800 gallon fuel tank for a range of 405 nautical miles.
