The Horizon PC74 is a 73-foot luxury power catamaran that was launched by the award-winning Taiwanese yacht-building firm Horizon Yachts in 2018. A 28-foot beam delivers the sort of space you might expect from a mega-yacht, not to mention plenty of inherent stability as you enjoy coastal cruising and offshore voyages. Two semi-displacement hulls designed by Angelo Lavranos provide a solid base for an elegant superstructure and contemporary living spaces crafted by stylist J.C. Espinosa. The exterior form is curvaceous and bold, with plenty of rounded edges and an aerodynamic, assertive flair, while interiors are free-flowing and sophisticated with a deluxe vibe.
Head up to the flybridge to discover an aft-sun terrace with a bar, space for your sun-loungers and a hydraulic Steelhead davit that can be utilized for tender storage and lifting. The forward portion of the bridge is hidden under an ergonomic hood with glazing at the front for shelter from the weather without losing that elemental edge. In here you will discover a walk-in bar lined in glass tiles with a set of bar stools, a U-shaped upholstered sofa with a dining table, forward companion seats or a day-bed and two Stidd helm chairs facing the helm station. This well-equipped dashboard features three 27-inch Garmin touch-screens, Side Power thruster controls, a docking joystick, trim-tab switches, a high-speed compass, VHF radio and power-steering.
Horizon have made the most out of the sheer space available on the foredeck, providing al-fresco sunpad space for up to six guests. Broad side-decks lead back to a sprawling aft-deck lined in authentic teak with room for a ten-seater dining table, a transom sofa and a wet-bar. Side steps lead down to individual swim platforms attached to the end of each hull that can be joined together by a hydraulic deck for a water-level beach-club experience. Move beyond sliding glass doors and into a breezy main-deck salon with pale oak surrounds, high-gloss walnut accents, leather upholstery, custom-crafted wall panels, chic mood lighting and expansive side glazing. Typical layouts include a 7-seater lounge sofa with a coffee table and two arm-chairs, room for an indoor dining zone and a walk-in galley with solid countertops, an Electrolux five-zone hob, a Miele dishwasher, Sub-Zero refrigeration, a steel sink, two Summit wine coolers and dining stools. Ahead of this there is a main-deck owner’s stateroom with full-beam dimensions, mullioned glazing, an entrance lobby, a walk-in closet, a side sofa, a work-desk, a king-sized bed and a glamorous bathroom lined in granite or marble with a wet-room shower.
Careful space-making down on the lower-decks enables overnight sleeping space for up to nine more guests across five well-appointed cabins with generous hull-windows. The pick of the bunch are two forward staterooms with double beds and en-suite facilities, while a port-side twin also features a dedicated bathroom. To starboard, meanwhile, there is a single cabin and a double room that share a bathroom, ideal for extra guests or even crew.
Twin 1136HP Caterpillar C18 ACERT shaft-drive engines should deliver top speeds of around 24 knots in ideal conditions, while at an 18 knot cruising speed there’s a range of up to 514 nautical miles. Ride this handsome watercraft at a leisurely 10 knot cruising speed and this range expands to 909 nautical miles thanks to efficient seakeeping and a 2,000 gallon fuel capacity.
