The Horizon E78 is a 78-foot luxury flybridge yacht that was produced by the award-winning Taiwanese yacht-building company Horizon Yachts between the years of 2015 and 2022. Available with an enclosed or open-air bridge, this sleek model boasts streamlined touches including cresting wave side windows, a fine entry, bridge flares and clean horizontal lines. Equally adept at negotiating shallow coastal waters and, with a class-A hull, bluewater seas, this elegant model is perfect for adventurous families who enjoy cruising in style.
Head up to the expansive flybridge to discover sun-terrace space to aft that can be equipped with a hydraulic davit and used for tender storage. On the enclosed version of the bridge you will also discover seating and bar options back here, while the indoor upper lounge features authentic hardwoods, lavish carpeting, great views and a Stidd helm seat facing the helm station. This modern dashboard features a Maretron monitoring system, bow and stern thruster controls, power-steering, zero-speed stabilizer switches, a trio of Garmin MFD touch-screens, a high-speed compass, VHF radio and more.
The open edition, meanwhile, features an innovative Hi-Lo hardtop roof that can be lowered when passing under bridges to allow access to inland bodies of water such as the Great Lakes. Up here there’s an outdoor helm station flanked by companion seating on both sides, a U-shaped sofa hugging a dining table and a walk-in wet-bar with bar stools.
Enjoy soaking up the rays on a foredeck sunpad for two that connects to a twin love-seat up by the bow. There’s plenty of teak on display to stern, where a shaded aft-deck impresses with plenty of space, bar facilities and a transom dining sofa. The teak continues down on a full-beam swim platform with a hydraulic segment and a stern-side door that opens up to reveal a private crew quarters for three. The main-deck salon is a breezy, sophisticated affair with surfaces lined in camphor and warm American walnut, parquet surrounds, marble accents, engraved mirrors, creme-toned upholstery, leather touches and varnished granite highlights. Enjoy seating for up to nine across two sofas, an armchair and a set of ottomans, or entertain at a live-in kitchen with high-end appliances and capacious refrigeration. Ahead of this there is a C-shaped dining booth and steps down to the lower-deck.
On the lower-level there is comfortable sleeping space for up to six overnight guests across a trio of en-suite staterooms that each boast generous hull glazing, dark hardwood surrounds and plush carpeting. A twin room to starboard and a VIP double by the bow both feature spa-like bathrooms and full-height closets, while a full-beam master stateroom amidship has a work-desk, two vast walk-in closets, a king-sized bed, bedside counters, a marble lined bathroom with two sinks and a wet-room, glass-framed shower.
The E78 is powered by two 1600HP Caterpillar C32 ACERT shaft-drive diesels with a maximum speed of 25 knots. At a 19 knot cruising pace you can expect multi-day voyages thanks to an efficient fiberglass planing hull and a fuel tank holding up to 1849 gallons.
