The Horizon E54 is a 54-foot sports cruiser with a flybridge that was produced by the iconic Taiwan-based yacht-building firm Horizon Yachts between the years of 2011 and 2015. Rocket-like aesthetics, a super-sleek streamlined form and plenty of aerodynamic curves not only look great but have been primed for raw power out on the water. A design by industry stylist J.C. Espinosa, crescent moon glazing and modern interiors deliver bags of contemporary style, while a lightweight fiberglass hull guarantees speed and an efficient running-style.
It’s easy to miss the bridge when viewing this yacht from a distance. Low-slung, compact and surrounded by a sliver of tinted glass, this space makes a big impression on those lucky enough to clamber aboard. There is a U-shaped sofa surrounding a bespoke dining table up here, along with a wet-bar station, a grill and an outdoor helm station with superb views. Head down onto the foredeck, meanwhile, to enjoy a double width modular sunpad with integrated cup-holders and flip-up panels that can also be used as a forward sofa. If you follow the high metallic guardrails all the way back to the aft-deck you will encounter a sheltered, teak-lined zone with a transom sofa and a dining table, perfect for outdoor lunches with a bit of shade. Two sets of curved steps lead down to a hydraulic swim platform with a transom sports locker and the opportunity to enjoy salt-water bathing.
The main-deck salon has to be one of the most atmospheric in its class thanks to double-tier cresting-wave side glazing, steel-framed sliding glass doors to aft and triple-height mullioned frames above the main-deck helm that let in more sun than any skylight. Expect plush carpeting, satin-finished hardwood surrounds, mood lighting panels and Corian surfaces in here. To aft there is a set of cabinets with a home entertainment system and a large U-shaped sofa with a coffee table, while further forward there is a U-shaped dining sofa with a table and a starboard side set of helm controls. Along with bench seating and power-assisted steering you will also utilize MFD screens and a host of navigational extras. Across from the helm there is a walk-in galley with a multi-zone stovetop, a convection oven, a steel sink and capacious refrigeration, while an atrium-style set of steps down lead to the breezy lower-deck.
On the lower-level there is sleeping space for up to six overnight guests, with cabins down here featuring expansive hull windows, skylights and a light color palette. A bunk-berth to starboard shares a comprehensively equipped bathroom with a double VIP cabin by the bow that features a full-height closet. A full-beam master stateroom amidship, meanwhile, boasts a work-desk, a side sofa, a queen-sized island bed, bedside cabinets, a walk-in closet and a lavish bathroom with a wet-room shower cubicle.
Powered by twin 700HP Volvo IPS900 pod-drive diesel engines, you can expect top speeds of around 34 knots at full-throttle, with smooth cruising speeds hitting the 28 knot mark. A 528 gallon fuel tank, meanwhile, has been optimized for multi-day coastal adventures, while an efficient hull further enhances long-range stamina.
