The Fairline Targa 53 GT is 54-foot sports cruiser yacht launched by iconic British yacht-building firm Fairline in 2015. Supremely stylish and built for high-speed coastal cruising, this slick vessel boasts rounded curves above the waterline and blocky mullions on the hull-sides for a feel that is laid-back and contemporary up top and more plush and sedate across the lower-deck.
Two separate sunpads sit either side of glazing out on the foredeck, while to the rear of this sporty vessel you will find a full-beam swim platform and an elevated, triple-width sunpad to transom. A shaded aft-cockpit lined in water-proofed teak hosts an L-shaped transom sofa, an extending dining table that can be used for drinks and lunches, as well as a wet-bar station to port with Isotherm chilled storage, a sink and an electric grill.
As you enter the main-deck salon through a set of sliding glass doors you will be impressed by teak surfaces, marbled surrounds and leather inlays that shine in the light that pours through arched side windows, a mullioned ceiling and an above-helm glazed electronic sunroof. Interior options include finishes in the Amalfi, Capri, Hamptons and St. Tropez styles, ranging from bright Ligurian tones through earthy and neutral motifs and a muted nautical theme. You will discover a pair of leather-lined sofas in here along with an adjustable timber-lined extending table and surround sound JL speakers, while space for cabinets or a wet-bar remains optional. Up front there is an L-shaped forward sofa across from a pair of helm seats facing a modern dashboard with Garmin multi-function display screens, Side Power bow and stern thruster controls, Lenco trim tab switches, Penta joystick steering and a Ritchie compass.
The standard lower-deck layout features room for six overnight guests across three lower-deck cabins, two of which boast en-suite facilities. A twin room to port sits across from a double VIP en-suite stateroom to the bow with a skylight, a full-height locker and plenty of hidden storage, while the full-beam owner’s stateroom is positioned amidship. This vast cabin features hull mullions, a king-sized bed, bedside cabinets, leather-weave wall paneling, high-gloss timber surrounds with strip lighting, a side sofa, a work-desk upon entry, a full-height closet and a marble-clad bathroom with a waterfall shower cubicle. Also available on this level is a walk-in galley kitchen with sparkling white Avonite countertops, a four-zone hob, a steel sink, a Samsung combination oven and plenty of storage, though this space can be exchanged for a fourth bedroom.
A pair of Volvo Penta D11 725mhp diesel shaft-drive engines promote top speeds of around 32 knots, with fuel-efficient cruising speeds likely to hit at least 24 knots. A slower Volvo Penta engine makes for a cost-effective alternative engine set-up, while a pair of 710mhp Cummins engines can also be installed.
