The Fairline Targa 47 GT is a 48-foot sportscruiser yacht produced by distinguished British yacht-building firm Fairline Yachts between 2005 and 2010. A Bernard Olesinski V-hull and a set of powerful Penta engines make this a truly thrilling ride, while a superbly sporty look from profile with a fine bow entry, a sloping transom and a swept-back hard-top sets the mood for high-octane cruising. Yet there is nothing better than turning off the engine and relaxing miles away from shore when aboard this still-modern vessel to take advantage of an abundance of slick and stylish lounge spaces.
Out on the foredeck you’ll find a double sunpad in striped upholstery where you can idle for hours on end in uninterrupted sunshine, while another sunpad to transom, this time large enough for three, offers views out across the stern. Side steps at the rear lead to a teak-lined, full-beam bathing platform and access to a large tender garage where you will keep your jet tender. Heading into the open cockpit you will find a hook-shaped transom sofa surrounding a triangular breakfast table, while a wet-bar with chilled storage, an ice-chipper, a sink and a DeDietrich BBQ grill sits to port. Up front there is a J-shaped forward sofa and a helm station with Side Power thruster controls, Teleflex steering, a Raymarine display screen, Lenco trim tab controls, VHF radio and more, while this area remains bright and breezy thanks to eagle-eye side windows, a skylight and a retractable above-helm electronic sunroof.
Lower-deck spaces are as luxurious as they are roomy, with gentle curves in satin-finished light oak or warm lacquered cherry contrasting against cushioned leather furnishings and metallic fixtures, all generously lit thanks to skylights, mood lighting and oval portholes. An open galley impresses with an Isotherm fridge tower, a 2-zone Eurokera ceramic hob, Avonite work surfaces, a mixer tap with a double sink and a combination microwave along with plenty of storage. Across from this there is a broad U-shaped dining sofa surrounding a timber-topped extending table where you will enjoy hearty breakfasts and late-night suppers in climate-controlled comfort. There are two en suite cabins to be discovered on this level, including an amidship twin room with a full-height closet, a bedside table and a bathroom with an enclosed circular shower stall. The owner’s stateroom sits to the bow and features a queen-sized double bed, a closet, a skylight and a large timber and granite-lined bathroom with an enclosed shower cubicle.
A pair of 575hp Volvo Penta D9 diesel shaft-drive engines can rocket you to top speeds of 35 knots with fuel-efficient cruising speeds of around 23 knots. Optional Caterpillar C9 engines deliver similar speeds, while an inexpensive set of 500hp Volvo Penta motors provide reduced but cost-effective top speeds of around 32 knots.
