The Fairline Targa 43 Open is a 46-foot express cruiser yacht that by British yacht-building firm Fairline between 2017 and 2020. Sporting a signature Alberto Mancini design, this yacht features rounded glazing, curves galore and a smooth, sweeping hard-top that contrasts against a fine bow-entry, razor-sharp hull-glazing and an ultra-aggressive attitude toward speed and handling. A hit with buyers and critics alike upon launch, the Targa 43 Open won the award for “Best Exterior Design” in its class at the 2018 World Yacht Trophies held in Cannes.
Step out onto the sun-kissed foredeck of this Fairline and enjoy hours of blissful sunbathing on a double-width sunpad with a set of cupholders, or head to transom and rest on an elevated sunpad with cushioned headrests that looks directly out to stern. Side steps back here lead down to a lower area that has been fine-tuned for water-borne leisure. There is an entirely hydraulic, paddle-shaped bathing platform lined in waterproofed teak as well as a capacious transom garage capable of hosting a Williams mini-jet tender.
Though called an open yacht this yacht boasts a covered salon and helm; though with an electronic folding canvas sunroof that opens up above almost the entire salon, generous side glazing and an open aspect to the rear, you will never feel disconnected from the elements aboard this breezy vessel. Stepping into the main-deck salon you will encounter a grain-aligned, high-gloss walnut finish, bespoke hinges and latches in stainless steel, and plush furnishings in cool neutral tones with a decidedly contemporary feel. A U-shaped transom sofa sits underneath an awning to benefit from much-needed shade, and surrounds a timber dining table where you will enjoy lengthy lunches with a cool sea breeze. Across from this there is a handy wet-bar station with an ice-chipper, a fridge and a grill, saving you from having to head downstairs for food and drinks prep. Further forward there is more seating and a starboard-side helm with all the latest navigational tech from the likes of Raymarine or Garmin and mechanical extras such as bow thruster controls, Penta joystick handling and Seakeeper 3 Stabilizer switches.
This yacht boasts sleeping space for up to four overnight guests across a master double cabin and a twin VIP room. You can choose to swap the position of these cabins around, so the master sits amidship or forward, though in both set-ups you will enjoy masses of space, dynamic hull glazing, art-deco inspired mirrored surfaces with jagged patterns, and room for full-height lockers, cabinets and perhaps even a side sofa. Both rooms feature en-suite bathrooms with marble-effect cladding and enclosed waterfall shower stalls, while climate-control on this level helps lower-deck spaces feel cool even on the hottest days. You will also discover an open galley with an L-shaped dining sofa and a table down here that benefits from an atrium-style opening for plenty of natural light. The galley features marble-effect work surfaces, a four-zone cooktop, a convection oven, refrigerated storage, a Bosch dishwasher and a metallic sink.
A pair of 435HP Volvo Penta IPS600 D6 diesel pod-drive engines produce top speeds of around 35 knots, while at consistent cruising speeds of 24 knots you can expect a generous range of approximately 220 nautical miles.
